Any thoughts on using something like this for a step in a ring of steps? says its rated to 1000lbs. figured putting a piece of flat horizontal behind it where it would attach to the tree to keep it from falling over/torquing. Granted its going to be clunky, possibly noisy if banging around, has anyone gone this route for a cheap last min ring of steps?

It says it will hold 1000lbs when connected to a stud big difference in that and a strap holding it to a tree! Plus something like that will have alot of movement from side pressure!! The slot placement and size makes a huge difference in performance!!!
