Heated Insoles??

I have problems with my feet getting cold so I made some changes this year. I have a pair of Cabelas 1200 gram rubber boots that have not kept my feet warm in the past. This year with the boots I am wearing a liner sock and Merino wool socks with Heated insoles. for the most part this is good to about mid 20's anything lower I add Muckluks over the boots and I have been toasty warm at 14F this year.
Are they Wiggy's Mukluks?

artic shield boot covers with a hand warmer thrown in each, actually put the hand warmer on the top side of your boot inside the cover. I am interested to hear about insoles as well though. I haven't tried my boot covers when saddle hunting yet, not sure how that will go.
They work great with my Predator platform. Didn't try them with my ros yet.

My Cabelas 1200 gram rubber boots or my lace up boots. My lease is extremely wet this year so it has been 100% rubber boots but now that it froze this last week I will switch to my lace up boots that are 400 gram insulation I think.
They fit over those big rubber boots? I figured you'd have to wear something smaller. Big difference between the rubber boots and lace ups.

Yea they just fit but they do. I was surprised that they did. I contacted Wiggys before I bought them and asked what size and they said to get a large because I wear a size 12. I did what they said and they actually fit all my boots. Some looser than others but they work great for all.

I don't have Wiggy's Mukluks but I have a pair of Wiggy's pak boots. They don't make them anymore but I found a new pair on ebay. I normally wear rubber boots. I can't remember if my rubber boots are 1000 or 1400 grams but when the temps get around the mid to upper 20's, my feet get cold. Not enough to make me come in from hunting be just uncomfortable. Yesterday i took a vacation day and went hunting. Temps were in the mid 20's with a stiff breeze blowing. I wore the Wiggy's pak boots for the first time. My feet were very toasty without a hint of being the least bit cool.

I ordered the lamilite socks, have not received them. I hunt swamps and wear dans frogger boots with chaps. My feet sweat. I tried the Bama socketts, they pull sweat away from my feet, but still get cold. I have been spraying antiperspirant on my feet, and have ordered one size up froggers (size 14) so I can get extra room.

Do you think that mukluks and lamilite socks with froggers will work for all day rut sits in the cold PA/NJ/NY weather?

Thanks!

My guess is that if it's cold enough to need mukluks, the swamps are probably frozen over. I would assume that if they fit over firehunters 1200 gram boots, they'd fit over the froggers. My advice is to call Jerry and talk to him to get the correct size like firehunter did.

I’ll give him a call tomorrow. Thanks.

I got busy at work and didn’t call yet. I did receive the lamilite socks. They are actually in digital camo and not gray. Nice touch.

I spoke to Jerry, but it was the end of his day. I felt rushed and not totally understood wrt my questions on the lamilite socks, rubber boots one size up and mukluks.

He lamilite socks seem like they may be helpful. I will try them this weekend. I won’t get my one size up dans frogger boots for at least another week, so this weekends test will not be the only test. I will have to test them with the one size up boots.

After both tests, I’ll decide if I will pursue the mukluks.

Stay tuned.

I have the Ansersis Heated Insoles and so far so good. It’s my first year with them but so far they have held me down. Can’t speak for the longevity though. I am using uninsulated Danner Pronghorns , the Ansersis insoles, Smartwool Hunt PHD socks (Smartwool are also the socks I use for my cold weather running so I truly believe in this company), and I always have my Arctic Shields. Now that I think about it I’m not actually sure I even need Heated Insoles...

The last two hunts, the lamilite socks totally take away the need for other socks. At the tree, I take off my boots, remove the insoles and my socks. Then put the lamilite socks on and then into my boot.

It works better than I have experienced with wool and bama socketts, but still getting a tad cold on the toes. Ricky Racer is spot on with his reccomendations of Wiggys! The lamilite is great.

I really think it is due to the rubber boots and my feet sweating that is still causing issues.

I also received the dans frogger boots one size up, and they will not work for me. It is still tight around foot, but with extra space around toe. They will be going back.

I am thinking about matching the lamilite socks with something like a mikluk that is ankle length and not an overboot just for the tree.

And if that is not enough, maybe heaters.

I already leave a pack frame at the base of the tree. So, leaving boots there too is not a negative.

Anyway, Ricky Racer recommending Wiggys should be heeded. Lamilite socks are a tad unde $32, and well worth it! No matter what I choose, it will include the lamilite socks.
