Help my knees please

No, good thinking. Do I still knee i to the tree with that though?
Correct

If u get it adjusted right it'll be applying some pressure to keep ur knees together as the trunk trying to force them apart...I'm sure u got a back band or something laying around already..it probably won't cure ur problem but may help

The strap thru the knee pads works better because the strap rests against the tree and takes some of the pressure off your knees.

So I’m thinking - keep the knee pads, add padding to tree as well, maybe also Tom’s knee strap trick and then research glucosamine condroitin supplements.

I’m dumbfounded at the difference last year to this year. Just night and day. Last year I had mild soreness this year it’s moderate to high soreness at all times even if I take 3 days off.

Anyone notice a difference between arcteryx and trophy line knee pads???

acrteryx knee pads and kestrel.

JX3 is not for me. I hunt some tight and tiny trees and need a small and versatile profile.

The OOAL Rut Roost and ROS could be an option.

I don't know your platform preference.

Just a thought.

What you need is something like this:

What you need is something like this:

Some packs have a removable HPDE frame sheet, which could easily be made to pull double duty as a knee rest like that.

Remember Brett I had my knees replaced like I said don’t lean into tree just straddle and get a couple ROS it makes a difference plus buddy you getting old LOl

maybe two steps on each side of my predator like foot rests

As a bad knee club founding member, I have tried everything mentioned so far, and this is just what I've found that works for me. Assuming your knees are truly shot, supplements are just a placebo that may help your mind think it is doing something, but cannot fix them. Reducing sugar can help some with inflammation, but will not repair the damage. Arcteryx pads are great to wear while moving and for general protection, but do not provide enough cushion for truly bad knees, but can be combined with a stadium seat pad or similar pad for improvement. The best knee pads I've found were only $15 at lowes hw. I do not like any platform on the market because all of them either force knee to tree contact or leaning only. I use just 2 ameristeps on the tree at 8 and 4 o'clock position and sit like you would on a motorcycle without knee contact and zero knee pain. My knee pads are there just for an occasional change of pace, and do not always take them. I also use a back strap under my legs connected to my bridge carabiner for additional comfort.

Check the knees over toes guy and get his knee program. Has drastically helped my knees. I feel like I’m a kid again. You have to put some work in but they will get better.

If you’re in smaller diameter trees, should be able to use ROS and sit in the saddle with the tree between your legs, I find that pretty comfortable.

I’ve got horrible knees from years of being a catcher in baseball and climbing poles for 20 years. I just wear a compression sleeve and also a kenalog shot is awesome. I also have a torn meniscus right now and the kenalog shot is amazing.

I went all in before last season. full on Tethrd setup. Trophyline knee pads plus a heater seat. My knees were a train wreck in short order. It’s because of age and bursitis. Not much is going to change that so I sold everything and went with a LWCG 1.0 lock on stand. I do take anti-inflammatory supplements but can’t reverse aging. It bums me out as I loved the saddle setup. I which I could be in a saddle but don’t see how that’s going to happen. I hunt in heavily pressured NJ where all the deer seem to look up so I don’t see how to conceal a JX3 In a skinny tree. I can’t deal with aiders of any kind so I’m limited to about 16’ with sticks or WE steps on public So concerned about the JX3 sticking out The JX3 seems like a great way to go but I like getting into a crook of a tree as much as possible. I did love being in a tree with my phantom facing the tree. Seemed like such a perfect setup.
