High end sticks

I could not figure out a way to make the EWO sticks to stack inline. That’s why I bought the beast sticks and you wouldn’t think something that simple would make a big difference but believe me it does.

Close enough. If dan used better metal and gave more toe room. I would get more beast sticks. But there is no way a standoff should bend before the bolt does holding them on. Maybe if/when he moves production on shore things will improve but until then. HARD PASS!

Let me know if I am seeing this correctly. You have 5 sticks in the picture. The first 3 are staggered to the right and the next 2 are staggered to the left?

All staggered the same way. Once you stack 3 the standoff will clear the step and you can stack sets of 3.

I am thinking if you drill another hole top and bottom to have the step and stand off with its own mounting you might be able to stack inline.

Ordered an EWO ultralight stick today. Can't wait to get it. Had a question before my order and got a response almost immediately from Dan O. Fantastic customer service.

Is it possible to build a diy ewo stick that stacks inline? If it can be done I think they would be perfect. For guys that use multiple sticks, beast sticks are hard to beat because of the inline stacking.

Swivel the steps & you can side stack. 1B20E9C1-341F-4755-A531-EE50D08F7881.jpeg

You’ll be very happy with that stick. I love mine.

I’ve haven’t seen a newly designed Beast Stick with the beefed up and tapered stand off bend. If you have pics please post. The old ones were bending because the stand off teeth were biting into the tree before most of the weight was distributed onto the strap. It wasn’t a material issue they use 6061 the same stuff EWO sticks are made of.

The problem is Chy-na. The Chinese metal used on the beast sticks is trash.

I have also had steps and tubes bend. It’s not just the stand offs. I have never had an issue with any other stick bending components. I bent a bolt on a helium stick that’s it. Never had a problem with muddy, lone wolf, Xstand, EWO or the Shikars trying them out.

My Shikar mini will twist like Chubby Checker, but it has always bounced right back.

I don’t mind flex. As long as they spring back after.

the beast sticks are rated at 300 lbs. no way in hell! I want to see a 3rd party do a TMA like test. Similar to the test timber ninja posted on FB pulling down with 600 lbs off one side of a step and see what happens to these things.

I weighed 250 when these bent. It was earlier in the season so I was not wearing 50lbs of clothing either. Had my saddle on and ring of steps in a dump pouch.

@enkriss just curious what kinda strap did you use when they bent?

the crappy black strap that came with them.

I had gen 1s used the gold strap

gen2s with the black strap.

gen1 bent a couple stand offs. They flexed but came back for the most part.

gen2 crap. Bent like soft pretzels

That’s the first I’ve seen a new one bend. Thanks for the pic! When I got my gen 2 they came with the gold straps. I’m 6’ 195 and haven’t had an issue yet.

I had one bend on me just enough to were you could notice it when I was messing with a daisy chain. Haven't had a problem with the cam strap
