Hoist rope

Based on this thread I decided to try out some 3/8s.

2 questions, if you have time:

1. where did you get that type of flat webbing (seems thinner/more packable than what I've seen)?
2. did you figure out a way to do a version of a figure 8 where it feeds out of a dump pouch, etc? I currently figure 8 paracord and it feeds out of my pack's water bottle holder.

Thanks

1) Strapworks polyester webbing
2) I haven’t tried that in the field but just tried out of a fleece dump pouch in the garage and it seemed to work.

I use 1/4 rope in a fig 8 doesn't tangel and easy to manage. And even if I forget or rush on pack up and just do a quick arm wrap it still doesn't tangel.

I started this year with a hawk retractable webbing I got from camofire. That thing was straight junk. It’s a hand crank and the gear skipped every other rotation or so, making a nasty clicking noise. I ended up dumping that and going with a Doyle’s hoist. Couldn’t be happier with it. I attached it to the molle on my pack and it works like a charm.
