Home made platform

I got mine for 22 and free shipping...on the beefy portion left and right of where post goes I drilled and tapped two 3/8" / 18 tpi
holes and threaded 2 sharpened 2-1/2" grd 8 bolts for teeth. I have jumped up and down on this test platform and only slightly bent the 1.25x1.25 tube....
I'm going to cut and drill another tube with the reinforcements I did on my Klemz style platform last year. Thus one comes in a little heavier at a touch over 3.

I'd be curious to see some pics of this as well!

I'm putting together a platform with this same wheelchair platform now as well. Platform was $25 on eBay, a couple XOP brackets, speed button and strap were 40 bucks and I have some 1.25" alum tubing. Should turn into a pretty decent platform for only $65. Might try to engineer a way to get the strap attached to the seat so you can cam lock it down, as my gut tells me the strap around the tree hooked to the tree button isnt going to be solid enough for a bunch of side pressure.

I mounter the button and it was already drilled in the factory configuration. For my loop strap and ratchet I was able to go under my top cleat and with the bottom cleat also sharing some of the same force .I think because of the angle of the platform the bottom cleat seats in the bark better . I could very easily convert one of these to cam loc style but I got lucky on where the factory put that hole . Nice job !

Jumping on the bandwagon too. Picked up two on eBay for $10 each plus $10 combined shipping. These are smaller than the XOP, but hopeful that they will work out ok. Mine didn't come with the bolt, looks like 5/16"-18 almost works but not quite. Is it metric?

I actually used 5:16 18 for mine . Instead of the bolt it came with . . I wanted a tested bolt for the only bolt holding everything together . I think its great others like yourself are building these.

Probably 8mm...

Hi guy's im going to be new to saddle hunting this year as im waiting on my saddle to arrive from tethrd! In the mean time ive been getting all my gear ready so when it does arrive I'll be set to practice asap. So I decided that I was going to decide to build my own platform! Took me a week to get the materials together and the process began. This is my platform made of raw material from the ground up. It weight just over 4 lbs and is really solid. Its not finished yet but I've finally been able to stand on it and i was surprised how solid it was. What do yall think?

Looks great.

What is the platform measurements compared to xop or lone wolf seat. I want the largest I can get.
