How are you carrying your repel rope?

It was so easy to grab my rappel from the dump pouch I would Tether to a tree, rest my muzzleloader on my bridge and watch and call from behind the tree hands free. I didn't find anything but I will definitely be doing that again. I could have done the same thing just standing behind the tree however not as smooth and controlled.

I like that way a lot. removes some of the fiddle factor separating it like that

another thing to try is move pouches forward. I have my madrock pouch zip tied to linemans loop on 1 side and only in 1 molle loop on the other. then the assault can move forward also so u don't have to twist so much to use them. trust me even an inch or 2 makes a difference esp. with winter clothes on

Have one of theseOS packs in my cart, trynna stow 40’ of 9mm HTP (stiff as a college freshman in a sorority house). I don’t want a whole Fanny pack but it takes up too much room in my backpack and the OS seems like the right solution with its modularity. How do you like yours?

I like it. I also tried a larger nalgene bottle carrier and I didn't care for that one flopping around on my saddle.

The OS Pack fits nicely on the saddle and doesn't flop. The small side pouches are great for my pull-down rope, figure 8, etc.

The main pouch fits my 40ft 9mm ProTac rope quite well when figure eighted and folded in half. I can fit all 40 ft of rope and my delta link and Safeguard in the main pouch. It's a little finicky to get the rope in there and then zipped up while wearing it, but it isn't bad. It helps if you don't unzip it all the way down the sides.

Overall it's a great pouch for the price.

I am strongly thinking about ordering a filbe pouch or two. The floppiness of the nalgene carrier is truly it's greatest detractor. But I'm also thinking about just putting the rope in my pack.

I don't mind having my one dump pouch on the saddle when walking in and wearing it. Adding the OS Pack and rappel stuff does change how it feels quite a bit and I'm not the biggest fan of that, but for short walks it's fine.

Once I'm up in the tree I don't notice the weight of it on the saddle.

Same here, I just suffer from "what if I drop the pack and need the rope" paranoia, so like the idea of a way down the tree always being attached to me, although I've never done that.

I worried about that climbing with a separate tether and then hooking up my rappel rope and figure 8 when it was time to come down, but now I'm climbing using my rappel rope and a Safeguard, so at least I know I have the rope and rappel device. Now I worry about dropping my stick while making a transition more than anything.

When one sticking I did yes. When stick climbing or 2TC no.

Working on decreasing my desire for (generally unnecessary) redundancy though, sometimes two is one one is none isn't necessary. Particularly since it's usually a three is two scenario...
 
Best part of JRB, my climb system is also the rappel. But if I were using a diff method and had to carry rappel line, any pouch can hold that or cargo pocket or a good stow job it can clip to anything, I’d imagine 40’ of resc tech or whatever line your using can be stuffed or stored pretty much anywhere. If toting 120’ of throwball fillament line can be tamed with a good figure 8 and clip I’m sure that can.
 
This is what I use and works perfect. Has a small leg strap at the bottom to keep it from flopping around.

I carry my rope (and tether, and ROS, and footloops) in a MOLLE waist pack. I can srrap it to my ruck or my 1-stick or wear it as a waist pack, as the situation calls for.
 
Has anyone tried a CGM stiffy pouch? Having a hard time finding any videos on one
