How do you get your bow up the tree?

Is the benefit of Zingit or Dynaglide just that it doesn't stretch -- and so it is better for a pull-down rope. I'm still very new to this saddle stuff. Got a nice 9-point the first day I took my saddle up last year, which was great, but meant less practice.
Yes, that's the main thing. Minor benefits are that since it's thinner, it packs down a little bit smaller, and also since they are intended as arborist throwlines, they're coated with stuff that will keep if from snagging on bark and whatnot. Stretchy paracord will stretch instead of pull, so you have to put extra effort into pulling on a stuck rope. Low-stretch line will just pull.

I used to want to upgrade my pull down rope from paracord to zing it but after asking around on here learned paracord works great if you use the correct technique. Helps to not have much slack and walk several yards away from the tree so your line is taut at 45° angle. Your pull has the most direct force this way and easily opens the loop around the tree trunk. If you need more gumption to pull the rope, wrap it a few times around your one stick or climbing stick and pull with that.

Paracord had too much stretch for me....I've been using 1/2 mule tape as my pull down rope for a while mainly because I have a ton of it....it's not the best for sure but if it's free it's for me.

I don't know if I'd wanna use the doyels for yanking down...but it works great for going up. I don't like the idea of climbing with my bow attached to my body

I’ve noticed and don’t like the paracord stretch. Wouldn’t super small dynaglide just cut into you?

Anyone use PMI cord but say smaller sized like 3mm?

Been using a doyles hoist in a eastern woods fleece bag for a few years.
Haven't found anything better since. Just lives on the back of my saddle.
Enjoy having one less rope to wind up everytime.

Actually tail of climbing line/ tether that is connected to my gear bag.

Does anyone use a bow sling and simply carry their bow up with them while they climb?

I used to carry my bow on my back and my climbing stick(s) in my hand. When I got to the tree, all I had to do was attach stick to tree and start climbing. I finally got sick of shredding my bowsting while walking through thick brush and having to replace it every year.

Now I carry my stick on my pack and my bow on a sling. I carry the slung bow with me while climbing and pull my pack up with my rappel rope. With getting older, it's easier to climb without my pack on my back.

I climb with my bow slung around my back and sometimes I will take the pack off at the bottom of the tree and just attach it to my rappel rope, sometimes I leave it on.

Wrap it around a stout stick. Never used the 3mm PMI, arborist throwline is cheap enough and coated for low friction on bark and sap. Plus it's handy for other stuff. I've got an alligator treble hook i can use as a grapple, I can pull in branches to trim them, work a throwball to reposition in a tree, etc. Not just a pulldown rope.
