How do you guys not smash your nuts in a saddle?

Yeah, like the others said switch to your tether. I climb SRT mostly, and rarely is my climbing rope where I want to actually hang from, so switching to a tether is a must. Little things like the height of your tether, the length of your bridge, and the angle it all creates can have a big impact on comfort.

Also, if your bridge can be adjusted where it attaches to the bridge loops, try messing with that too. Lower and it pulls more from the bottom, higher and it pulls more on your back. It's another adjustment to help get your comfort dialed in

this^^^ I have to adjust my jewels and sometimes they are most comfy when they are heldin place with tighter legs straps……I’d never cut mine off btw.
My bridge loops don’t have adjustable positions, but I will unload, move down my bridge on the loop, pinch it and load again. Grabbing lower on the bridge loop definitely helps by pulling more on the lower half.

hm, not sure that i have much adjustment in the way of where my bridge attaches . The only options i have are the big tether loops and the small ones for attaching a linesman rope.

Yeah, i need to get me a set of those squirrel steps, but i still dont even have me one of the nice light platfroms yet. just using the bottom off an old hanging tree stand that the seat gave out in lol

The steps in the photo are molded Tree Hopper steps. They are solid once setup, but they're not the most packable. I just ordered two folding Cranford Scaffold steps to see if I can achieve the same amount of comfort in a smaller, more packable step.

You do not need the leg straps, but I myself didn't feel right cutting them off. I use them when walking and actually like them tight when walking but in the tree, I loosen them to the end of the strap.

It will depend on how your bridge is attached to the bridge loops on your saddle. Tethrd saddles have the "comfort channels" that changes where the bridge sits in those loops. My bridge is girth hitched to my loops, so I can loosen the hitch and then change where my saddle is pulling on those loops, changing the feel of the saddle. If I move it lower on the loops, it pulls more under my legs, higher and it pulls more against my back.

Your saddle may not have that option.

Well loosening the straps helped tremendously. I feel like a dumby lol. I tried using the tether too, but the tree I’m on, my tether just barely makes it around with hardly any to spare. There just enough to get the prusik through the loop, but no extra room to clip the tail to the Biner, so I don’t feel super safe. It was definitely more comfortable though, Just need a longer one for larger trees.

My only complaint now is hip pinch. Any good remedies for that? I tried looking up some videos and one thing I seen was trying to adjust where the bridge grips the loops on your harness like some of you suggest. The only problem with that is my bridge clips in on a biner on the one side. So I might change that and just tie some sort of hitch on the biner side so it will synch down on the loop.

I somehow have managed to not crush my nuts in the saddle, so I've never tried a knee pillow. Might help, though.
