How do you guys not smash your nuts in a saddle?

Went out for a short sit this morning just testing things out, seeing how I want to set things up and what not. One thing I was having trouble adjusting to was my nuts constantly being crushed. I’m using a trophy line covert. I found that if I used the back brace and put my feet on top of the platform to where my knees were about nipple high, I could take the pressure off my groin. Aside from that any sort of leaning puts a lot of pressure on my groin and the leg straps eventually rearranged my family jewels into a very uncomfortable position. At times an extremely painful position. Any tips or tricks or is it just cause I’m small and the straps have no where to go but into my nuts? Lol
Loosen the leg straps a little. Make sure the saddle waist strap is nestled just above hip height. Use a tether at height and set it around nose height. That should alleviate most of that problem

Yeah, no - there’s no tips to tell - it’s ‘cause you’re “small” and the straps have no where to go but into your nuts. Hope ya didn’t sell yer tree stand yet, numb nuts.

I think the combo of extra tight leg straps.and staying on your DRT rope are the cause..How high above you was the crotch?
I think i am pretty funny, throwing the crotch in there as well.
Almost straight up tether is not comfy...

I just reach down, grab my package and reposition. Voila! No nut crunch.

Loosen the leg straps up a little bit. Reposition the saddle so your weight is in the saddle not in the legs straps. Your knees shouldn’t really ever be nipple high. Like others have said, tether at nose height or head height, length of bridge and tether to put your knees slightly above 90 degree. That will have you leaning maybe 20 deg from straight up and down. Starting out I think a lot of people thing you’re supposed to be dang near horizontal, but just a slight lean back is going to give you a good mixture of stability, comfort, and ability to maneuver around the tree. Too short or not high enough and you’ll be extremely close to the tree and stable, but your maneuvering will decrease (won’t be able to move around the tree). Conversely, a long and high bridge will give you too much maneuverability with decreased control and stability (feels like a swing). Find your happy medium, but first, loosen those straps on your boys.

Finally, a tight waist belt is more important than the legs, though the legs are not unimportant. I wear a tight belt, a little less than snug on the legs.

I have never had any pinch problems but I usually stand on the platform with just a slight bend at the knee. Mt tether height is about nose level. Try tethering at ground level and adjusting different things until you become comfortable.

Yeah, I’m definitely going to have to tinker around a bit tomorrow and see what I come up with. Sounds like I just need to loosen the straps a bit and try the tether out instead of just using the rope I climbed with as my tether

This seems to be the unanimous feedback I’m getting so I’ll definitely give it a shot tomorrow. My boys can’t take another sit like this morning lol. Was starting to think y’all were just into ball torture.

Trust me… I did this like every 15 mins. Lol I’d lean for a bit until my balls couldn’t take it no more, then stand for a bit until my feet got tired. I alternated between that for awhile until I broke out the back brace and was able to find a very reclined position I could chill in and not crush my balls.

Lol uhh, it was about 6ft or so above me

Yeah, like the others said switch to your tether. I climb SRT mostly, and rarely is my climbing rope where I want to actually hang from, so switching to a tether is a must. Little things like the height of your tether, the length of your bridge, and the angle it all creates can have a big impact on comfort.

Also, if your bridge can be adjusted where it attaches to the bridge loops, try messing with that too. Lower and it pulls more from the bottom, higher and it pulls more on your back. It's another adjustment to help get your comfort dialed in
