Totally cool paint job! Good work!Combination of bad weather and the whole family being sick at once kept me inside for a few days, did let me update my predator though. Aluminum primer, spray on bedliner, sponge camo and flat clear coat. Tried to replicate Sitka's elevated II and burnt orange logo. View attachment 9614View attachment 9615
Dang! Looks good! What colors did you use???? Y'all did a great job! Thanks @Slipnslide for the inspiration. Had my 2 year old help me out so it’s a little blotchier and less detailed (especially in the tight spots) than I’d like but thinking of him every time I step on it will be well worth it. And it still looks pretty sweet I do believe.
Started with the primer
Added the truck bed liner.. agreed with the later comments in this thread and probably wouldn’t do this again
Then attacked with a sea sponge
After some drying and a couple clear coats
I’ll reassemble in a few days

I love that you didn't go too dark with it. #1 mistake with most DIY camo. This will hunt well.

Also what is the difference in the gen 1 predator and the gen 2 predator?
Appreciate it!This is probably the best paint job I have seen. SWEET!!!
Yep, time and weather. I clear coat anything I paint. Then let it sit. Or put it in the lake. Or mud. (Unless it's stealth stripped, then it just stays on a tree). About to start on my sticks and predator now, gonna try and replicate some camo patterns (like the deer will care, huh?!)
That's one improvement that I need to do.not sure if they mentioned it, wrap the buckle in bicycle innertube, stops the clanking.
Man!! What colors did you use on this? Looks sweet! Finally found some time to paint my platform. I just need to clear coat and reassemble. Thanks for everyone's input on this thread. I used alot of helpful tips. I'm pretty happy with the turnout.

Workin on mine now. Appreciate the info bud! Thanks!
1. First I used a black 2 in 1 primer
2. Then "khaki" (the lettering on the post is also khaki)
3. The post and outside edge of the platform is "weathered wood"
4. After that I used all 5 colors and the G2 sponge painting method.
5. Clear coat with ultra flat satin finish.
Im happy with the colors especially the weathered wood. I got that tip from this same thread (thank you for the recomendation @Slipnslide.)
I decided to keep the deck I stand on one solid color. Its just easier for my eyes to find footing rather than have it blend in too much.
Dry time before reassembling is important. I got a little impatient. So allow extra time to dry and you will be happier in the end.
