How many orders would it take to do a run of larger platforms?

I have messed around with original lone wolf stand as a platform. Problem with any hang on stand is you are stepping over cables to utilize the side of the platform to shoot around the tree.

I get the concept of carrying a treestand instead of a platform. But, I also see a NEED for larger platform out there. I 'm not saying as large as the assassin. But I am saying something between it and the predator at least. To some people, comfort and meeting each ones individual style of hunting is more important than being as light as possible. I do agree on the having two different platforms. I love the predator. But I also have a NEED for being able to change clothes. I do believe i'd use the predator every trip on 40+* days and then use the larger predator XL on days that were sub 40.

I was talking to the XOP guys earlier this year and they said they where working on something as they realize the need. No ETA though at the time.

I'm sure they'll be out of stock constantly....."We're expecting more to be in this Spring." That's my biggest issue with XOP....seems like they're always out of stock or re-designing.

Agree! Never had my hands on a predator but looks good and reviews seem mostly positive. Only disadvantage to saddle hunting compared to tree stands IMO is, I can go to the store and have my hands on a quality treestand right now and hunt this afternoon. Not so simple with saddle hunting.

You're exactly right, and I doubt it'll ever be that way. I do believe Dave has a good point though. We are blessed to have such good equipment at this time. I do look forward to the cupped mantis and the predator XL. I wonder if you did something as simply as added 4" of width and length what difference it would make.

I really like the predator but feel having 2 platforms would be ideal. The predator for going deep and for normal bow hunting sits (4-5 hours), and a larger heavier platform for those all day sits during the rut or when I am only a 1/4 mile from the truck.

This is exactly my plan with the Predator and Assassin. However, I do believe the ultimate platform is a hybrid, somewhere between the 2 in terms of size and weight and I love the "step" on top of the Assassin.

Exactly!

A windwalker weighs 6lbs, and has the added bonus of a seat if you want to mix it up a little. It doesn't handle side pressure well, but with a platform of that size you don't really need to swing around the tree like you do with a ROS or smaller platform.

Unless I end up with a hybrid, the kestrel and a windwalker will be my rut setup. I can sit and hang during all day sits, and the relatively huge platform allows me room to add layers on cold days. With carbon bolts, that setup is about 12lbs total weight.

I think there's still a place for stands like loc-on and chippewa used to make.

I got a loc on limit I plan to use in this exact manner gotta give her some tlc first new seat and strap and a few other tweaks.
