So based on the old camo vs non camo. Here is a good.place for non camo items that still meet hunting criteria. Wind proof, quick dry, tuff, warm. Can it be had for a fraction of the price as the expensive stuff? What have you used that is great and doesn't break the band?

I can get this rolling with old military surplus wool clothing… it’s hard to beat as long as it’s not your base layer.

I want know also, everything is so expensive now. Seems the none camo equivalent its as much or more once you get away from a Camo manufacturer

I sold my firstlite gear and use an old leafy cabela’s set. I might as well be invisible.

I do need a more technical “mountain” outer layer for western hunting. I just hate all the reflective material the popular brands use.

I’ve referenced Stone Glacier here in other threads. It is top of the line quality. But it is expensive. You can wear it literally everywhere. Around town. In Alaska or Idaho snow and cold, early season, etc. They only make a few clothing items but it’s all a perfect system and works as good as anything out there.

1.USGI Field Pants cold weather they’re like the equivalent of the M65 Field Jacket which can accommodate a liner. I’ve never used any of the military liners though, opting for good wool or poly breathable base layers

2. Wrangler ATG pants. Light, breathable work great early to mid season with base layers and double as a great base layer under my wool army pants.

3. Wool Army Pants. These are super warm and ultra quiet. There are so many brands I can’t recommend one most are from Germany or Switzerland etc. they are super durable!! I think I have 4 pairs. Have had them for years. I’ve picked them up at Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Guide, Coleman’s, Midland Surplus etc.

4. Asbell Wool Pullover Anorak. The other two items above are in the sun $40 range even less for the wool pants but the Asbell Anotak is in the $150 range but for what it does, it’s versatility as both an outer and base layer, it’s warmth and ultra quietness…. You can’t beat it imho.

5. I picked up T&K Hunting Gear’s Grid
Fleece
beany and neck gaiter this year too and those are great too! I got mine in Coyote.

6. USGI fleece polar Rec bibs. I wear them under my field pants or wool pants. They are super cheap and very effective as a layering system. I like that they don’t bulk up at my boot line nor my belt line but they cover my midrif and are under my saddle nicely.
