Thats what worries me. I keep getting the hunt club Treaspassing, when the dogs get on deer all heck breaks loose. You can hear sometimes 10 shots or more going off. I will be dealing with some if this issue later, Probably make a thread on it.
One of the reasons I have a patch on my pack.
The other thing that scares me is archery season. We get a lot of people here with Crossbows that literally road hunt. Seen more then a couple of guys looking for Bolts on the side of the road, talking about how they missed them 3 times and can't find the bolts. I own a crossbow, have nothing against them, there are some really dumb people that have no business hunting with anything.
Luckily most guys like that stay close to the road. I have been known to hang a hunter orange vest on a tree above me during archery season if I am close to a road or parking area, Especially if I see the same trucks driving up and down the road.
ETA: It also lets other bow hunters you are there, Generaly they will go aeound or avoid the area to not mess up your hunt. Most Bow guys are like that.
By in large though I feel much safer during archery. I had a guy fire a shot in my direction while scouting on a WMA on a Sunday! Sundays on public is a no go here. He was also not wearing hunter orange. That one came close to a shootout since I had my CCW, I really thought he was trying to shoot me until I saw a bucking bounding in front of me. 2nd time in my life I almost shot someone. He left in a hurry, Wardens never found him. I now wear orange vest and flag on my pack while scouting on Sundays or during the off season. It makes for guaranteed encounters with DWR officers when they see you. I dont worry about it much, tell them that story and they are on the way when they figure out you are not hunting.
