I’m done with Tethrd!

Man this whole saddlehunter forum has turned to a place I use to love to see what's going on and now I hate to even look at it because of the negativity.
I’m not being negative. I’m being factual. Big difference. I agree with you on a great place with great info and good people. This forum is the reason I know what the F I’m doing. But when I was made aware of this legal action from the main focus of the community it upset me. I’m more of may the best design win. This leads to innovation. Tethrd makes a saddle. Latitude makes a better one. Cruzr makes a better one than that then Aero makes a better one and the circle continues and we all benefit. But when you attempt to stop all progress from other companies than you limit the capacity of the entire group (all saddle hunters).

I

I’m in the military. So no. But I deal with almost every outdoor media there is due to work affiliations and this came across my radar today.

So you don't have first hand account of the issue at hand.

It does not seem like a positive development for the forum, for you to air the dirty laundry.

These things have a way of working themselves out, and trying to get in front of the messaging seems just as weird as the problem you have with them.

I do have first hand account otherwise I wouldn’t open my mouth or keyboard to get blasted online.

If this is true(not saying it’s not) it would be quite appalling considering half of the products they sell are production versions of DIY ideas that spawn from here and Klemz...I haven’t seen anything resembles a copy design? any way to find patents online for one can formulate his opinion??

This is exactly why it is upsetting me as well. Anyways. If this is too negative or upsetting please close the thread. Let me see if I can obtain copy of letter with certain information redacted and I will post here.

Last go-round was over the Predator's "wing" design at the front (away from tree) edge. It widens to allow for foot placement and side pressure grip and nothing else did at the time. Now, you and I might think that's a dead stupid common sense thing, but whoever patents it first can be as big a jerk as they like over it, and it's not called being a jerk.

So when OOAL was designing a platform for the top of Wild Edge Stepps, this went on and the forum blew up. At that point, Tethrd staff were common participants in the forum, there was much bad blood and rage and gnashing of teeth, and "you don't know the whole story, dude" stuff.

Bleh. Don't step in the arguments. You never really get them off your shoe again.

By the ops standards he shouldn't be buying any products from anyone. Every product/manufacture at some point has sued someone over patent infringements. Everything from Ford to Chevy, McDonalds to Burger King, Coke to Pepsi. Everyone has a right to an opinion but don't be a hypocrite. This why we have a legal system to sort these things out but to post a butt hurt opinion based on assumptions is just wrong.

There’s another thread I just read that said Cruzr got one. Anyone think the ION is anything close to the Predator????

The ION is a climbing stick.
