All your archery equipment was lost in some way and you have to start over. What is your first choice in a bow. It can be any bow from any time.

Mine would probably be a Martin Hunter Recurve from the 90’s. One of the brown actionwood bows with black limbs.

I'd ask Steve Turay to make me a Northern Mist Classic, straight grip, 68", 55# at 28". Now as to the wood and glass specifics, well that could be another story altogether. There are so many choices.

I've never shot anything other than Samick Sages and my Morrison Phoenix riser with the carbon limbs @Razorbak66 graciously gave me. Between those my choice would be the Morrison all day everyday.

I have a Maddog Prairie Predator that should be here early of August. If it shoot as well as everyone said, I might retire the rest for awhile. But who knows.

I’d get a Toelke Chinook just like I have. 1 piece 58” 50lbs. Might get the mango veneers instead. But I like the curly maple I have now. I have very little interest in any other bows. Literally I used to get a new bow probably every year. Since I got the a Toelke I haven’t desired another stick. The other thing i would do after I have that replacement is attend Clay Hayes bow class and just go nuts on the self bow stuff. Lastly I’d buy any Torges bows that come up for sale.

What weight? A buddy has offered me one a couple times. I'll ask him about it.

I don't want to derail this. But I think it kinda goes with what your asking. How many places can you go to shoot multiple trad style bows? Most good archery shops will have a majority of the modern compounds. But seems the supply of trad bows is endless with all the different people who make them. Plus they all seem infinitely customizable. I do notice a lot of you have had a dozen or more different ones at least. Seems like trying to narrow it down to one could be an endless pursuit.

Have whittled a collection of over 2 dozen bows down to four, two of which are identical, and there's a reason for that. Great Northern Jackknife Lil Creep; would order a replacement in a heartbeat.

You are right about that. It is rare to get several trad bows together at a store to look at. Also, even when you decide on a style and maker you will probably end up with several anyway. They are addictive.

Easy call, the Stalker ACS longbow I am shooting or an Elmer Patton Copperhead recurve. Without question the 2 best shooting bows for me that I have shot.

You said a lot! My first Recurve would have been totally sufficient and would have served me well to this day. If I would have just stuck with that bow it would have saved me mucho denairo.
