Just got my new recon

So out of curiosity I just measured myself with a sewing tape and what I got is 36” around my waist where the belt of my jeans would be and 40” around the widest part of my hips. No idea how that translates to a 32” pant size but that’s what I got.

I’ve spent quite a few hours in the yard trying every orientation I’ve seen on here and think I have it dialed in and then when I take it into the field and can’t get it to cooperate like it did at home. It’s probably my impatience because I just want to be hunting. I think that’s why I end up back to the original configuration because for me it has the least amount of fiddle factor. When you find that sweet spot it is an extremely comfortable sit and I need to give it more time but my patience are running low with it.

Do you have the Bungie belt mod? I’m not sure I would use a recon without it.

I love the lightness and compactness of this recon. My kite seemed bulky n heavy even though on paper it wasn’t. I had biners n a rm1 on it too. I didnt like the stepthru buckles. The recon web bridge is easy to step thru so i dont mind it

Here is my bungee belt. I used a bungee cord and cut the hook off one end. Cord is about 3/8" in diameter and I can cinch it down nice and tight. The two zip ties are tight enough to keep it from slipping, but loose enough that I can pull it through by hand to tighten and loosen. Zip tie idea comes from Allegheny Tom. I took leg straps off initially but now like them. I cut the ends at an angle so they feed through easier. I flipped panels and sometimes seems like they fell different and sometimes not, and they are currently flipped.

I have a small that arrived yesterday and is going through quarantine right now. I’m not worried because when Mark sent me the email asking what size, I explained that I am a 33-34 in waist, but was leaning toward a regular because I wanted more panel adjustment. He replied that a small was the correct size for me based on waist size. So I know it will be exactly what I wanted. I assume the sizing is based on waist size and not based on desired adjustment amount, due to me being a paying customer and specifically stating that was the reason I was buying his product and him recommending the small anyway. Otherwise he would have to deal with a return, and bad write up on SH, and all that jazz.

Thanks. Gives me confidence in my small.

I guess I better get my hands on a small
Better not jump too quick, jury still out on mine since I haven’t had my rear in it yet. And I’m not willing to discount what some of the good people here saying about the medium/regular. Just hoping Mr. Treehopper knows his s***.
