Kansas Draw Results

This is my second year not drawing out of the 3 years I have applied. Sucks because it was going to be my son’s first out of state hunt.

My first four years was every other year. I then started getting it every year. So far I’m lucky but it seems to favor longevity.
Take your son to AZ for couse deer in January. That is one extremely interesting hunt to me.

My buddy has draw for something like 20 consecutive years. Didnt draw this year.

Our public land use to be better than most other states private. In the course of a season (back then I quit Dec1) You had a legit chance of killing a 170 every year. It wasn't would you see one its would you get a shot at him.

You didn't even pick your bow up when a 140 came rolling thru and you dang sure didn't contemplate shooting him. Now you probably ought to consider it unless your certain going empty handed is ok with you because more than likely that Booner aint showing up.

Most guys that had no clue what they were doing still had a 160 or better usually.

My best day in the stand on a public piece was 6 deer over 150. I never fired a shot but it was fun.

You could go on a pheasant hunt for the weekend on public and see multiple deer over 150 and the number of giant mulies we use to have was crazy. There was a guy that had 5 i believe over 200 at one point. If I remember right 2 of them were top 10 at the time.

I’ll be in KS for the 3rd yr in a row. I won’t share my zone for obvious reasons, but we don’t see the pressure on walk in that you guys are talking about. I mean there will be 1 or 2 trucks on a 100acre walk in when we drive by in the am, but nothing like what some folks are seeing. Good luck to you all!
