Kestrel hip pinch

Ok this certainly could be my issue. I am climbing via SRT. The kestrel rides up my waist during the ascent. I guess I need to try and find a way to readjust the saddle lower after I ascend.

I would hook up to the tether and then loosen the leg straps and even unhook the waist strap or just loosen good. You can grab the bottom strap with both hands and use your foot pegs or platform to take the pressure off the saddle and slide it down a little at a time. Then you can tighten the waist strap enough so saddle doesnt move and reset your prussic higher or lower if need be.

O
Great!! They are an excellent company. Hopefully the size 2 addresses your discomfort.
Oh they are and I love the design and concept I want to be able to use it cause walking around with this thing is like its not there.

I was just having a little hip pinch for the first time, my leg straps were too tight. Loosened them up and it’s gone.

Just got mine in and went hang at ground level. Tree was slightly leaning to me. I felt the pain! It was where the adjustment straps are sewn on. It’s stiffer and harder right there. I went to the other side of the tree where it leaned away from me and it wasn’t a problem. Went to another treee that was almost straight and it was good there too. My tree tether was above my head with the bridge full length from aero hunter. Shortened my bridge to 34in from end of saddle loop to loop. Brought down tether around tree to eye height while standing straight up. Felt the best there so far. I’ll play with it hunting this weekend. It’s heavier than I thought after being use to my sit drag. Buckles add the weight but it’s made solid and safe.
Was there any chance your tree was leaning toward you? The more my tree tether was angled away from me the better it got. With a tree angled toward you, it makes the tether more vertical. The lower your tether is on the tree the more it takes pressure off that bottom strap.

This is what I've found. I've been working on finding more comfort with a higher tether. Last hunt with it was good. I really feel like the saddle is breaking in.

Tried mine last night in my garage hanging from a pull up bar. The tether was above my head obviously about 2 feet and I left the bridge as it came. I kept waist belt snug per the video Boswell posted and had it about where I wear a normal belt because it looked like he had it about there. Being under a bar I was hanging straight down and when sitting I felt like i was going to slide right the front! The leg straps were holding all the weight. The seat barely supported my butt and top strap was pretty high on my back. I may have had hip pinch but honestly the sensation of sliding had my attention. I am going to get out to a tree, keep the tether at eye level and play with shortening the bridge, but was wondering if loosening the belt more is something to try. Like i said had it snug per the video which made it hard to try to slide down further. I am one of those guys with a small butt. 5'11 170

You really wouldn’t be able to get a good test that way. You need to be on a tree standing on steps or platform. You shouldn’t have any pressure on the leg straps unless you fell. I have them loose as well as my waist belt. Sitting in the sling like it’s a swing.

Thats the plan for tomorrow

Loosen the waist belt. If you're sliding out adjust the adjustment straps on the sides.

Unless you are using a platform climb a smaller tree. I find that I get hip pinch spreading my legs farther apart for bigger trees

I have a size 2 coming. I'm going to see how that does. Ill give it some time to break in.

I am most comfortable in mine with the waist belt several inches below my normal belt. When the waist belt is at my normal belt it felt like I wanted to slide forward and out of the saddle.

Keep us posted on the size difference. I still may need to get the 2 as well.
After 4 hours in the Kestrel today I found that I can lean and minimize the pinch. Kestrel belt just below pants belt and loose - adjustment straps all the way out - short bridge - tether at about chin level, (lower is even better but limits moving around tree) . Have to make adjustments to sit. lower ropeman so that tether connection is about a foot above my head while sitting, tighten adjustment straps.
Still no comparison to the Evo while hanging. Kestrel is much much better while walking in.
The size 2 might be the answer. It's too close to give up

Hung from an actual TREE today about 2 feet off ground with belt loose and pretty low - almost to point where I could slip it right off - that definitely got the seat more under my butt and legs and was very comfortable leaning. Sitting was fine except the bridge is so long that an eye level tether had my butt well below my knees so that's my next correction - feel like the saddle itself I know where to wear it to be right so now it's shortening the bridge and see how that feels
