Has anyone one sticked or rappelled with the killdeer harness portion only? I am looking at getting one to use in conjunction with my one sticking / lock-on set up.

I am curious to see how bad the atomic wedgie is!

I've SRTed with it and it kills my nerds but it's doable for the short amount of time you're suspended. I guess it's not a deal breaker but not comfortable by any means.
I'll add you could always put a fleece saddle in conjunction with it and be completely comfortable.

I 2tc/rappel with it (fancy leg straps)

Not the 100% perfect/comfy, but it definitely does the job. No ball pinch

Interested in doing the same thing next year as well, I use it for my climber currently and you forget you're wearing it.

I been wondering if Sladder/rappel with a hangon would make for a great experience. Only on the Kildeer for the short rappel.

This is similar to what I’m wanting to try with my Novix Helo

I tried SRT with just the harness before, I had the regular and not the upgrade leg straps. Not the most comfortable thing. I was always scared that I would loose the leg straps as they are can be detached.
I am looking hard at this as an alternative.

Kind of like a ess and treehopper mix.

I like that. How much is the traditional bowhunters wilderness podcast harness that he makes?

I SRT/rappel with the Killdeer alone. Not uncomfortable enough to not do it, and then I'll install my Mini-Drey at height. I'll remove and pack my Drey prior to rappelling down, as well.

I have done this and am 100% against this. Yes it can be done but very uncomfortable. You can find a used saddle to attach your Dryad to for just a little more money. ANY saddle would be more comfortable for SRT than the killdeer. Even if you never use the saddle for hunting, just the climb is worth it.

Or if you are against saddle, get a padded battle belt and mod it with climbing rated material. Then get 2 inch webbing for leg straps. Way more comfortable. I'm a huge fan of Dane and his company, but this belts are meant to check the marks on the requirement for safety harness, it is not comfortable at all. All confront come from the Dryad.

I have the one with upgraded legs straps and I didn't find it terrible to rappel in. I didn't experience any nut crunch (and I'm 5'11" 205 lbs). Although my cruzr is definitely easier. My biggest issue was getting used to the madrock lever is turned 90 degrees due to the belay loop.
I was actually considering a short bridge so the madrock orientates like I'm used to.

The Dryad Killdeer is $169.99 plus shipping.
I used to buy a 12" subway sub for $5. Last one I got was $11.99 plus tax.

I know that’s right.

I 1-sticked on my RCH last year without issue, deploying my Drey at height. This year, my legs fell asleep while suspended as I moved my 1-stick. Switched out to my Treehopper Recon once I recognized what was happening. No ragerts.
