What’s everyone carrying?

I’m in the market for a new fixed Blade.
I’ve carried an ANZA with the sheath that lies longways across your belt for 10 years. I’m looking for something similar.

I have a few bark rivers that I really like and you can also get some premium steels through them

Lots of cool new knives.

Blade show 21 is going on now. There's some good coverage on YouTube

Dawson knives are awesome. Made in the USA and veteran owned. Can carry cross draw or regular.

I like the looks of these; I may have to try one out.

The huntsman is a really nice all around hunting knife. Cut a couple deer up so far with it. All I have had to do is strop it and perfect edge comes right back. I carry that and a javalina with me for skinning and quartering.

I’ll probably place an order this week. I’m still debating between those 2 models.

The javalina is really nice for skinning and quartering stuff like that. But the huntsman works good for that stuff too. I like having the point on the huntsman for splitting the pelvic bone. If I didn't split the pelvic I could probably get by with just the javalina. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah if the one you want is sold out just wait a week or two and check back. They continue to put new stuff up and sells quick.

If you haven't ordered yet look at the Canadian Belt Knife style of blade ,Grohmann #1 original is what I use.
The shape is "non-typical" but extremely effective, I have used one since the mid 70's, thanks grandpa.
Great for all needs when processing a deer .
Bark River knives also makes a very nice series called the Canadian Models, their steels are newer than Grohmann's.

I haven't seen it on there for a little while but camofire had cold steel Canadian belt knife for 10-12 bucks....I really like the way that this shape fits the hand. I've really become a fan of cold steel

Havalon Forge is my new favorite. I have several different knives, but I always grab the havalon first. Blades are cheap and always sharp.

This old Schrade-Walden 148 has been gracing my belt as of late. The original knife morphed a bit over time to suit my style of use and the sheath that @gameflogger made had to do likewise. VERY pleased with how it handles now!20210615_083217.jpg20210615_083235.jpg

This is a recent purchase used it on 2 deer last season, from D. Manley.
The blade is 3.75" long the cutting edge is 3.0" the handle is camel shin bone.
The shape is unique but when you hold it in your hand the "light" will come on.
it doesn't seem to matter what direction you use the blade it just feels right!
My wife even uses one in the kitchen because of the offset of the handle.knife.jpg
