This is exactly what I'm going to do using the bottom part of my climbing stand. 10 lbs is worth it to me. Because it eliminates the monkey motion of steps, aiders, and platforms. Does both climb and platform.

Ive tried it. It works, but its not better than an using an ocb strap to secure it.Has anyone tried to attach a vertical arm to the hand climber which would give it stability at hunting height
Shot a doe this way last year. Should be perfectly fine.I just had an old aluminum climber so used the bottom part of it. To me this is the best solution. Not ultralight weight but it is much easier and safer. See my earlier post. I just added pictures.
