I had the GEN 1 Agile last year, and I returned it. It has some issues with the bridge adjustment. Otherwise I loved the fit and weight. Not sure if they've had it tested yet, GEN 1 or 2? WHICH makes me a little nervous. OSHA is pretty important.

I never said I would buy one, lol.

Really don't know much about these featherlights. You gotta do that homework. But what you're saying about fit resonates with other feedback I'm aware of.

I have the Gen 1 Agile saddle. Very lightweight and comfortable. I love it! The gen 1’s bridge adjustment is a little bit of a pain, but they fixed that with the gen 2. The gen 1 in my opinion is fine though.

Looking for the lightest saddle that has been tested AND proven to be safe. I thought I saw a new saddle that came out this year, at about 1lb, but can't find it. Figure there has to be a few saddles on the market that have been tested to be safe and are light. Love my Latitude Method 2, at a bit over 2lbs, but I'm looking to replace it and get something a bit lighter.

haven't read other replies......but have you considered an ultralight rock climbing harness (Edelrid makes one) paired up with a DIY fleece saddle?

Looks like a 15 dollar bucket boss with legstraps.

Now that I actually look at it, yeah, it does appear XL backband sized.

Wonder what the dimensions are. I'd think petite to kids sized, but they have an actual small/youth saddle in their lineup. (They have some bigger "heavier" saddles too.) They advertise that it meets OSHA fall restraint standards. Not many saddles on the market at it's $135 pricepoint.

I see there is a zipper on it to turn it into an actual belt for walking in. That's unique. Not something I necessarily want, but unique.

Mini drey would probably be great with a rock climbing harness

TN Nano is advertised at 1lb. Madhunts had it slightly heavier. They claim it "meets OSHA Fall Restraint". Not sure what they mean by that.

The Agile hunting Saddle is likely lighter. Theres some others around 1lb.

My early season lightweight saddle is the Wood Hunting Saddles Original. It's mesh, and has enough size for a bit of extra comfort. It's not heavier enough for me to care about the race to the bottom.
Same with me. Switch to the deluxe for travel

I actually used a Guidos Web (MS) tree saddle about 12 years ago for a season, sold it due to being WAY to bulky and heavy, and then I used a rock climbing harness for the next 7-8 years as a saddle. Was good, but since moving back to a standard saddle designed for hunting I have found it is better the rock climbing harness. DID cross my mind to go back, as it is clearly lighter, but just giving up to much I think in function.

harness by itself or harness with a fleece saddle or something like the Drey parachute thing? i'd never lean or sit in just a climbing harness.

Like this! I climbed both mountains and walls until my mid 50s! Of course, those that climb would say they’re being lazy while sitting in their harness hanging off the wall/mountain while being belayed, but it’s done all the time on walls and on mountains walls! Plenty safe.

i agree it is plenty safe, it's that if you put a fleece saddle under your harness then it replicates the feeling of a large saddle

i wouldn't hang in just a rock harness because i'd likely be less comfortable than either a saddle or RCH with fleece or drey

Oddly, I don't find the rock climbing harness uncomfortable. But then again, I think the Lone Wolf seat pad on my climbers were comfortable on all day sits, so go figure!!

I don’t know weight, but I have an “original” wood saddle that is extremely light, comfortable and has been tested.

I haven’t compared saddle weights. However, I don’t see this as much of a concern. Not sure what “heavy” would be, but when secured by the right belt, the weight of the saddle melts into your body and essentially becomes one with you.
Having said that, my TX5 minimalist 2.0 is stupid light. While I do plan to hunt with it, it will primarily serve as my backup on road trips.

I would look more for comfort than weight. Comfort should be the number one priority.

I am greedy, comfort and lightweight is the goal! And anything else I can get in the deal!
