List of sporting goods companies and who actually owns them.

On another note...

Eagle Claw hooks (just the hooks) and Vicious fishing line are both US-made. Thill bobbers are US-made. ZOOM soft plastics are US-made. C4 and C3 Ambadeurs are still made in Sweden, even though Garcia is now owned by Pure Fishing/Tubberware.

And most if not all live bait comes from US-based cottage industries. All of our local shiners come from Mississippi, and our worms come from several Alabama worm farms.

I couldn't really make ends meet buying everything from a company that pays people a wage I'd be cool with my daughter earning, but I can try to do so with luxury gear like fishing/hunting stuff.

And of course, the ole Waldrop pacseat is also made in Yoosa!

Glad I never supported Rinella. Something about him has always rubbed me the wrong way. I must have pretty good instincts I guess cause I could never figure out why I didn't like the guy. He's right in the same class as the Bowmar's now imo.

Rinella has discussed this ad nauseam. The article is way off base.

Tethrd is not owned by the Chernin group... It's still owned privately by Greg and Ernie. PM me if you have any questions.
Tethrd gear is sold on the meat eater website. Who is meat eater owned by and where do those profits go?

*No, I am not a Tethrd hater nor do I have any hate or discontent for any small business being smart and wanting to grow though mergers and acquisitions to make more money. I fully support capitalism. I freely buy products from all these companies listed above, I own Tethrd products, and Timber Ninja products (his sticks are sold on the meat eater site also) as well as numerous products listed by other forum posts above.

Please understand, sometimes on paper you may not be owned by another company, but they still own you. If you have a mortgage on your home, or finance a car through any credit agency, or have student loans, etc, there is a massive company backing that smaller company that you nor I know about.

I do not want this thread to get off track, so I apologize for my first post that I prefaced with a waring about not wanting to get political. This is the last forum I want to see arguments happen on. Thank you for your clarification @Reagan H.

In the end, we are all consumers and drive this small economy of hunters and I want to see Tethrd and Timber Ninja and every other company succeed and keep developing new products for us to all buy, gripe about, then sell in the classifieds a season later for not helping us kill the biggest Seek One buck ever known to mankind.

I agree with you @thedutchtouch with the exception of “sensible gun control.” No legislator at any level will ever be able to legislate the value of life or the value of death no matter how hard they try. As we attribute human thinking into the equation our worldly and highly intellectual justifications continue to disappoint do they not? As a matter of fact. We have never had more gun control ever in the history of our country yet tragic and extremely evil acts of violence and destruction persist. There is no man made doctrine that will ever steer us completely through the realms of evil. That is only available to us one way. And I’m not going any farther than that.

I should have limited myself to my first popcorn reply instead of dragging the thread further off topic, this is a "what company owns other companies" not a gun thread, my bad.

Hey guys, I figured this would be an appropriate place to share this website:

It's not necessarily hunting gear specific, but it compiles lists of companies that make their products in the USA

Oh boy. How do you avoid this from getting political?

.

Feel free to look up the group that owns meat eater and first lite and Tethrd and numerous other companies.

If this link is considered political, I apologize to the moderators and forum members. It is just an informative article about the hunting industry and also meshes with the political industry. Please feel free to take it down if it violates any policy.

Very interesting.
