Live from the saddle 2021

That's pretty cool. His first time in a stand with a bow? I have a 5yo that practices often with his mini genesis, can't wait for the day he's old enough to be with me in the stand.

No, he's killed one with a xbow each of the last two years and one with a rifle last year. This was the first time he's ever experienced the head bobbing, stomping, snorting spectacle and this one was pretty comical and extreme. I was hanging behind him in my saddle and couldn't help but chuckle at the whole thing. I'm sure it was a lot more frustrating for him though.

Got setup late, we’ll actually second setup. First one was 50 yds off where I needed to be to shoot. At least I found out on the 3rd stick……
I shot a doe last night, quartered & on ice. I usually follow up & try to hunt hard & shoot one the next day or 2 after a kill so I only have to process once. This spot is cool, all the lower ground canopy is 6-8’ , but I can see a pile of trails from 20’ish ft up… 1st real sit in my transformer. 5B4D8EC4-0C97-4D73-A9E9-A710DF84A0E1.jpeg38E1EECC-3475-4BE1-B1E7-A9FCD4A4C5AB.jpeg

Good morning from NC opening day. And good morning dove hunters. Good grief.

And that feeling when you’re driving into 7000 acres of public. And the only other car you see is parked where you were headed. Just my luck. Hahaha.

Good luck today for those out there.

First spot I walked into I could hear someone setting up in the dark, so onto plan B. Got set up in the gray light and started looking around with the binos... ladder stand 30 yards from me. Then around sunrise I hear someone sawing branches probably within 100 yards of me... Gonna stick it out and see what happens. Have a nice 6 point feeding on acorns under me now.

Congrats on the opening day doe!

About 4 feet off the ground tonight rocking the helo/sit drag combo. Gotta love when land owners post the public land 500 yards off their property boundary... Insane amount of tracks back here. Just had a spike come trotting by as I was hanging the stand.Screenshot_20210912-170457__01.jpgScreenshot_20210912-170534__01.jpg
