Well. Found deer. Couple doe bedded, bumped them from like 15 yards, maybe 20 tops. Gave a couple beats since they were casual. A real little but legal one came in behind me on the trail I was on. Froze while it practiced the stomp at me thing lol. It wandered off so I set up. Bleat again. The other two were bigger. Not big but bigger, probably would have shot if they gave it to me. They were about 90 left from the picture, they hung out maybe 5 minutes before the bigger one decided she didn't like it.

I took water that I know I'm not going to drink. Said water came open and soaked my coat. Hoodie wasn't cutting it , or wet coat so I had to throw in the towel.

Small victories lol

Me and my buddy had an awesome encounter with this brute last night in NE Ohio on some public. The pic was taken of him at 80 yards. I was able to film the whole encounter. He was with a doe but still keeping his distance. I snort wheezed at him when he was walking away and got him in within 35 yards and he made a super aggressive scrape, and then my buddy took the shot but hit a limb. I could hear his feet shaking on the platform. He’s never killed a buck and the second one he shoots at is 4-5 year old public land toad! What a HUNT!!

Went to NY Northern zone yesterday for a cold rainy rifle season day on public. Got snorted at in the dark in parking lot. Got in and setup and didn’t see anything. Two came up downwind(behind me) winded and took off before I saw them. Still stayed dark to 2:30 before getting down and walking/scouting some more. No cruising yet, few scrapes no new rubs. It’s gotta crank up this week with the cold front.
