I wish they would out law those things for hunting seasons. You can walk for half an hour to set up and some squirrel comes blasting in on his wheels to ruin your day. I don't think they realize how far away they can be heard!

Gun season. New neighbors drive their side by side down 300 yards or so from me. Park, and get out to hunt. Should just go hunt public at this point. View attachment 110917

Dead center of the photo behind the Laurel is a scrawny 6. He's legal but even Id feel upset shooting something so small. I grunted to him 1 time, and he's stood completely frozen behind that Laurel for over 30 minutes now. Like a Statue

Its private. He can do what he wants on his own property. But for the last 15 years or so it's been pretty quiet around here. The guy who would hunt it walked back if he even hunted back here. Usually he was on the other side. I just been spoiled. Seen deer still. Few small bucks. Doe group.

Stayed until the neighbors loaded their deer into the side by side and drove off. Figured I would move to the down wind side of where all the deer I saw headed. Had momma and her little one come check me out while climbing. Don't have another doe tag yet. Waiting on a bigger. Last few years this part has been under water. Been a dry summer.

Had a nice 8 point tending a doe walk by just outside of range. I actually drew back on a doe at 22yds but she turned and went away from me, and it's too early in the season to resort to the "Texas Heart Shot".

Had my best hunt of the year. 5 different bucks cruising early, then it died out. One really good shooter and a couple borderline bucks. Also saw a coyote, bobcat and 27 turkeys.

My buddy and I shot a couple of meat deer. He may have doubled....going back in the morning after a long track and think we kicked her up. Forgot how effective the 450 is....lol.
