Lone wolf handclimber/ Saddle combo Part 3

I put a bunch of pics of my climber on the DIY section if you want to check it out. It ended up at just over eight pounds with everything. Solid as a rock but I'm having problems with my friction hitch binding after it's weighted so It's hard to make any progress. I've got a roll n lock on order hopefully that will take the PITA out of it.

I'll checkem out....Ropeman 1 is where it's at

Yes... where the arm rests on the lip of the platform, I first used a piece of rubber in between as a" lift kit" then pushed the arm down tight and zip tied it. I mentioned that in the video. It worked fine but the bolt is better in the long run.
One guy said he taped a few washers on each arm where they hit the slope on the casting. Could also use a 3/4” piece of rope taped to the arms as well. Hockey tape works good. I put a three step ultimaider on the front of mine today, which should help get above the trunk bulge and cut down on the amount of adjusting needed as you climb. Going to try it out tomorrow.

The aider makes this system great for the exact reasons you mention. I use a two step amsteel.

doesn’t get any eaiser than the ultimater. Have it on in about 3 min and make it as short or long as needed depending on the situation.E7C8F2B0-A0AC-4699-A181-3E900942C45A.jpeg

Anyone know where to find a Hand Climber these days? Everywhere I've looked is sold out. Or is there a comparable substitute on the market?

I have one I bought back in 2019, before I got cancer and missed last hunting season. Was on a tree once in the back yard, seat still sealed in plastic.
Been thinking of selling since I plan to use 2TC climb this fall if Doc gives me green light. Let me think about it.

No, I have not tried it. Was doing some thinking/tinkering and wondered if anyone else had tried it out already.

I see this post is from a few months back. Have you ( or anyone else ) tried climbing with it upside down yet?

I have not. I saw it on a YouTube video somewhere….

I seen it on YouTube also. I came here to see if anyone has tried it yet. I've been a fan of this thread and @Adrena123 video series on YouTube since last year.

Count me in as one of the guys that bought the LWHC after reading/watching @Adrena123 mod. They do owe you some commissions!!

I bought one at the beginning of last season but still haven't modded it yet or even used it stock. I was going to try a piece of hard rubber hose and some zip ties to mess around with it and see what I like. Then I seen the "flip the arms around mod" and thought that would be pretty slick if it works well. I was hoping someone tried it and had some feedback.

Thanks!!

And no commissions, I'm still poor

Is the aider working for you? I tried using an aider but since it sits so far out I felt like I was swinging too much. Plus it’s tough for me to get up on the platform from an aider
I didn’t have any problems. I just hold on to the stand with both hands for the first two rungs and the last one is close enough to the attachment point that you’re not swinging around too much. I’m 6’ 170 so I’m pretty agile.

That’s what worries me. I’m old and 3/4 crippled and not very agile
