Wanting to buy sticks for saddle hunting. I sold my hawk helium 32inch and wanting something smaller. I have a 20inch helium for one sticking. Looking for 4 sticks to use for saddle hunting or my lock on. What do y’all recommend?

If you have a big pile of money laying around, Beast Sticks, Ninja Carbon Fiber sticks, and Tethrd One sticks all probably fit the bill. For a more affordable option, Muddy sticks or 20” Hawk Helium sticks are good. XOP sticks, too.

Novix mini’s come in either single or double steps. I have the double steps and for the price 220$ almost half the price of similar premium sticks I really like them! Bite in the tree really well, weight is right on to advertised weight. Plenty of aider options. Hard to beat for the price and that’s why I went with them. Not saying their the best but their darn good for the price.

Novix minis have been really amazing for me. Ran them all last year with cable aiders. Light weight and compact. Going to run them with the ultimaider this year.

I have mine with a three step aider on the first stick and a single step aider on the others. Aiders are from EWO. I have a TrophyLine Wingman arriving tomorrow. With all this, I can get to 20ft without having to make a big step. If I want to stretch, I can leave a stick or two at home. I like an easy climb.... I also added webbing Daisy Chains to the sticks. I plan to use the cam buckle on the platform

Do you like the ultimaider? Do you move it or leave it on one stick? I’ve been looking into it!

I like that idea. I may play around with keeping the cable aiders on two sticks and using the 3 step aider on the bottom. I am trying to just use three sticks to cut down on weight this year. I also have some Daisy Chains arriving on Friday that I am going to try instead of the buckle straps.

I don’t have it yet (should be here Friday or Saturday), but am going to try a combination of moving the ultimaider and leaving it on the bottom stick and using the cable aiders on the top two to see what works best for me.

People talk about daisy chains being light and quiet, but to me the biggest benefit is they are very compact

If you can only get out a few times a week. I would go xop, or novix. If your an extreme insane hunter like me i would get beast or lone wolf custom gear. Lwcg for me is the best on market for packability. And everything they have is pretty much a system.
but thats me.

For sure. The buckle straps are very bulky in my dump pouch.

Do you use the truckers hitch method or turn the stick to the side to ensure they are tight to the tree? That is the only negative I’ve been reading about, but I am sure one of those two options will solve that.

I just go the the closest loop and push the stick down.... I do plan to use a cam strap for the platform

i am a daisy chain fan, light, packable, rock solid. last time i went up the tree two sticks hit a loop well so just got looped and set, two didn't line up so got truckers hitched. all 4 sticks i run cable aiders attached, were rock solid. last year when i ran hawks i did the kick the bottom of the stick out, loop the daisy and pull the stick back to tighten/set, worked with my hawks because the stick has a slight amount of flex towards the tree, and standoffs don't bite super hard, this method did not work for beasts. ultimately truckers hitch is very easy and better than this method anyway IMHO.

I had the Hawk minis last year and they were OK for the money, but didn't bite trees as good as I would like.
I bit the bullet and bought 4 Beast minis used/like new and couldn't be happier. There is really a big difference in the way they bite the tree compared to the Hawks. I'm glad I made the purchase.

Staggs in the Wild did a good review of what he called high end sticks which I thought was good and informative if you want to spend the money.I like my Shi1kars but my Heliums and my WEI steps also get me where Im going when used.
