High water always condenses and pushes animals to a particular area....hell our whole rut is dependent on spring flooding which is why river basin deer rut so damn late.....I've wondered if this is true for other areas during this drought? Particularly swamps and marshes that have opened up.
although I have also thought the OPPOSITE in that they cluster around whatever little water there is, moreso in the bottomlands.... - but I haven't been able to confirm/disconfirm either way.
I'm sure in the right situation though water pockets hold deer but we just have sooooo many bayous and spring fed creeks that it is definitely difficult to play the water hole game unless the situation is perfect.
