I've already sent LWCG two communications regarding the need for a new bolt to be overnighted to me. Haven't heard a word back yet

As somebody who wades through dozens of emails and voicemails daily, definitely call them. Emails aren't the best choice if you need instant results. Phones don't bite.Call them

Yeah, platforms are bad ju-ju. LolI hate to say it, but I think I'm already planning on reaching out for a call tag to return mine. I don't want to be a prototype guinea pig, and that semi to be what all these companies are doing these days....payb $300 to test their product for them, no thanks. Thought andre and these guys had their crap together better than this. Pretty dissapointed.

yeah, just a real bummer, they didnt rush to get them on the market or anything...to be foiled bay a bad bolt choice and the decision to not through bolt the post for the button is really kind of sad.Yeah, platforms are bad ju-ju. Lol
I'm curious to see what the "fix" is. If I can drill a hole and run a grade 8 bolt through it, meh. Easier to fix a bolt than a broken cast.yeah, just a real bummer, they didnt rush to get them on the market or anything...to be foiled bay a bad bolt choice and the decision to not through bolt the post for the button is really kind of sad.
Fair enough. Yes, I hold companies to a pretty high standard when they tout themselves as the best, or top of the line, or cutting edge. Modifying is understandable, I do the same thing, but FIXING is different. The bolt issue bothers me because they tested the platform with that soft bolt, I'm not sure(and neither are they) how the post is going to hold up to the leverage in that situation with a grade 8 bolt. Would the post have cracked or broke because of the force if the bolt hadnt bent? No one really knows. Is this response all over a bolt bending?
I don't know of a single piece of equipment i've owned that I didn't modify in some way, no matter the cost.
exactly....I dont get it either. The thig that doesn't make sense to me is that the pic on social media has a versa button.. that doesn't make any sense. Why would they send the bolt, that's known to bend, when they themselves are using a versa button.
exactly....I dont get it either.
Does my previous response make sense to you? I'm honestly curious of your opinion.
Cool, I think we're totally on the same page. Funny thing is when I first saw the predator the first thing i thought woukd break was that cast button! It does make sense. I guess it would all come down to what you currently have and how bad you want what they have to offer. For me, there isn't a platform available on the market that is that size, therefore I will have to do a small upgrade to make it how I want it. Honestly, I don't know why they wouldn't put the bolt all the way through the post for added strength. I don't like the thought of my life being supported by that small of a piece of aluminum.
But, I also wonder about tethrd's cash versa button. That scares me a little more honestly. I am hoping there is a bolt hidden in that cast some where. haha.
This is an issue that 100% should have been found in testing. And if the fix is that simple it should have 100% have been done prior to shipping. I can sorta understand something like a casting going out with known (non-safety related) weaknesses. But if you're only shipping out 150 known-problematic parts that can be reworked in say 10 minutes each...take the extra 3 working days to fix them. Or even the extra few minutes to ship improved hardware if that's safe to use...I'm curious to see what the "fix" is. If I can drill a hole and run a grade 8 bolt through it, meh. Still kinda a bummer though
Not arguing with you at all. But I'm a pessimist and a pragmatist. I'm rarely disappointed because I expect little, and I'm willing to fix something if it's cheap and easy. Sure, I'm salty over a $300 product not being perfect. But I'm salty over my tax rates and the lack of P&Y bucks in my area too...This is an issue that 100% should have been found in testing. I wonder if they didn't put a bolt all the way through to begin with because the back side of the post isnt flat or square and would be difficult to make it that way the way the water jetting is done.

The bolt probably bends well before breaking. Unless it breaks off or bends so far the strap slips off it's not going to drop anyone.Modification should be an option, not a safety necessity.
