LWCG double step release

We have a agree to disagree on the stand offs.....these have 2 things the catalist sticks dont offer.....the angled off the trunk steps and the different attachment options.
The catalist sticks look very nice also....I just think the bolt standoffs are an advantage to a traditional bolt on bracket while u disagree .....again this is just me giving my opinion on an item I'll never own and be lucky to ever even see in person

This one makes me cringe:

“*Please note, the above are estimated product weights, stands and sticks may fluctuate slightly due to the manufacturing process.”
On the sticks they released last year they put up that same notice including a statement that there would be no refunds because of stick weight.
So basically you order one item. Receive something else. And you’re expected to just be happy because you own a piece of gear designed by Andre. If he wasn’t so innovative he’d we selling game winner stands at your local academy.

Yup have a good one. I just can't envision them biting hard enough to not having kick out on all the different tree shapes and barks. But I may be wrong also. I doubt I will ever touch one also.

Some times I see LWCG’s stuff and think, “that’s nice” and then I remember how sketchy those herbs were when they first came out.....

I see nothings changed. I really wanted to learn more about Andrae when I first heard about the guy, now I could give a rats a..... you get the point.

Seriously guys.....most (all) stick designs rely on either 2 or 4, 1/4 20 bolts to hold all your weight.....these are 4 3/8 or larger bolts...what are u worried about?

Big difference in how those bolts are being used. That said I would hypothesize thatyou’d see more of fracturing in the tapped holes in the stick material itself before bolt yielding.

For one sticking the EWO stick with the sewn aiders and a cam cleat are perfect. I am not interested in anything else unless it has a sewn aider, and the stand-off is a decent distance from the tree and I can put a cam cleat on it and it is rock solid. Those specs presently eliminate everything else for me

Oh and wire aiders are hard on the feet

I’d like to see them used on a crooked tree. Like other guys have said, I wish I could test them out, I would know in 60 seconds on my first climb if they were good or not.

Maybe....I guess. I know I can easily shear a 1/4 bolt with a 3/8 drive ratchet and have a extremely hard time shearing a 3/8. I also know I can take a 4" long 1/4 bolt and a 4" 3/8 bolt and can easily bend the 1/4 and eventually break while much more difficult with the 3/8. I will never own these and could care less about them but gotta give props to a company when they do a good job. IMO these are the best sticks available currently and if I was going to buy sticks I'd get these....as far as the changing the specs on weight capacity that is strange....I'm not affected so doesn't concern me..

You're talking about torsional shear, not linear shear or bending moment. Seems like a rush-to-market solution, especially when compared to the prototypes that were at ATA.

I must have blocked that memory, or just didn't look at the weight until after they changed it.

I get what you're saying. It's frustrating. But it's kinda like having your feelings hurt because you wake up and the hooker took your wallet again. Women and treestand manufacturers are alike in that they both lie about their weight and we usually still want some. They didn't have a huge discrepancy like Hawke recently had. The sticks I have are lighter than any I previously owned, and I'm sure these will be light as well. Just not sure how those bolts will work on funky swamp trees.

Well if nothing else LWCG is consistent in changing **** on their product listings after releasing products for sale. Maybe not the product weight this time but the weight the product will support.

I’ll never buy from these guys

Changing the weight rating was crappy. I'm not saying they're saints. I'm just saying it's par for the course, and they ultimately are making gear other people arent making.

Changing the weight rating is a much bigger deal than changing the weight of the product. Not cool

From Andre:

“These sticks have been tested in house to exceed Tma standards for a 300 pound rating. Our girl basically copied and pasted specs from our Mini step page Not knowing the weight we would be raiting them at. All of our products are tested in house by me personally You should know our entire line will be 3rd party tested at Tma once all the final changes to the design are complete. The reason why we have a slightly lower rating Is that this is an entirely new design for us. And I always take in to count something I call the human factor This is not taken in account by TMA testing. So we will have numerous hunters at 300 pounds plus running these sticks the season. This you cannot test in a lab. And even though I love my minis.. I will be running these sticks a majority of the season for that specific reason. It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.”

Just to clarify I was in no way criticizing you. Just was similar to what we had previously discussed so I added to it

I'm not sure how to take that. I read it that they've taken orders for a product to ship in 3 weeks and the design isn't finalized.....???

Yeah I thought it was pretty sketchy too. I’m guessing this has been their normal routine which may explain why they have to change weights on their products after people order.
