LWCG Minis vs. Shikar sticks

So, I have both sets of sticks. I have found that the LWCG minis (minus the daisy chains, I carry separate) pack EXTREMELY well with the Ambush. I have also found that I can collapse and stack 4 Shikars together, with Amsteel daisy chains wrapped around them, and can get them to pack well with the Predator. My biggest con with each is as follows:

LWCG minis - I wish the standoffs were more aggressive & bit like the Shikars. They don't even bite as well as my original LW sticks, and I think I may eventually take a file to the standoffs to sharpen up.

Shikars - The slight loosening of the step when you set the sticks. I will put in my mental checklist to tighten each step after setting and before climbing, but it's a little disconcerting.

Let me be clear, I really like both of them and in my opinion both are winners. Both are way more packable than my original Lone Wolfs. If I use my Predator I'll have the Shikars, if I use the Ambush I'll have my LWCG minis.

Yeah, so hearing about the standoffs on the minis being less than stellar is what steered me away from the minis. However now I'm kind of regretting that choice because I'm wanting to get a 1.0 and it would be nice to have the packability with those paired together.

Do yourself a favor and get the fourth mini. I had three originally. Sold the set of three and got a set of 4 with cable aiders, the set of 4 packs so much better with the Ambush. If I don't need the fourth when I climb, I won't use it, but if I do need it I'll have it.
 
I just ordered 4 LWCG mini’s , with the new titanium finish they should be pretty nice... Also what do you guys think of the their cable aider? Thanks
 
I have had both and sold both. I now went with the new Hawk 20" stick. I admit they are a tad heavier but I use an 18" knaider and I can easily get 20ft with them. Double step all the way. 4 sticks weigh 9#s 6 oz. and pack together nicely. I thought the LWs were short at 16.5"s and the Shakars bothered me as with me, my pack and hunting clothes I am over 250#s and they seemed to flex on me. Shawn
 
LWCG new .5 stand is on there website, somebody please buy it and do a review, that mite save me $500 :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Buy it! It’s probably inevitable that I’m going to, somebody on here needs to weigh that sucker!!

They’re looking at mid to late summer, when they’ll be shipping them out.
 
I have been talking to a lady from LWCG named Brenda and she told me they are working on the camera arm now then it will be sticks in a few weeks then the 1.0 about a month out and finally the .5. She said they weren’t sure exactly when they will be shipping them but she promised before September. But things could have changed in 3 days LOL.
 
I ordered a .5 this morning. 2 more minis last week to go with the 4 I ordered in April all with cable aiders. The week before that the pocket arm
 
I'll wait for a review of the 0.5, I can't see myself using a stand again. But ya never know.

I talked to Andre yesterday he told me they are starting with the 1.0 then sticks. Told me 2-3 weeks for the stand and sticks I ordered. Didn’t ask about the .5
