LWCG stand setups

Anyone climbing with EWO ultralight sticks or beast sticks and packing them on your LWCG stand?

Exactly how I do it with my DIY sticks that are similar to beast sticks.

I did however move away from those straps to one small bungie that I ran under seat of .5 and over sticks and clipped to frame.

I will stay with made in USA!! Jason from Samco Tradbow just did a 50 sit review on YouTube. He likes it! I just don't like made in China!! For me it's LW Assault 2stand or LWCG 1.0

He also said the beast stand was the greatest ever…. Then gets a custom gear stand says it’s the greatest thing ever, now he gets the rubicon for free it’s the greatest thing ever.

@enkriss What are the design flaws? I was thinking about trying one of these, but if there are issues, I’d like to know.

They changed the way they level the seat. It’s very squeaky with not much to do to stop it.

They moved the button up almost to the offset bracket. On leaning trees the strap hits the offset bracket. Which doesn’t allow it to bite… Also, the closeness of the button to the bracket (top point of contact) causes lousy camming of the stand. They had many years of consistent designs I don’t know who decided to change that.

Prolly an ear tucking influencer.

I tried speed scrolling through this thread to find it but does anyone have a pic of how v2 double steps stack on a .5? Also curious if anyone has a measurement of v2 standoff height. Sorry if this was already posted.

I had the V2’s….. stacking on my 1.0 was not very streamlined in my opinion. It can be done but it took more effort/straps than I preferred. Also the V2’s were a no go for me because of footroom on the tree. I wasn’t a big fan of the sticks on the tree either.

I find attaching my Tree Styxs (with a bungee) to the seat like the pic in post #722 the easiest way. Not much hassle as gravity keeps the sticks on the seat and a bungee over the top of the sticks keeps them in place while walking. You still can sit a pack on top of the sticks.

The standoffs are 2 5/16 from the stick, 2 11/16" if you include the stick. Shorter than the V1, but the v2 you run the standoff bolt flush with the stick as opposed to threading it through the stick side for stacking purposes. V1 is 2 1/2 from stick to end of standoff, and 3" including the stick.

That’s perfect guys thank you very much. Im running the micro doubles so it doesn’t sound like there’s much of an upgrade on foot room to move to the v2’s. I’m liking the micro doubles so far and the foot room hasn’t been an issue except for large diameter trees but this is exactly what I was looking for. Not worth trading for em in my opinion

The micros use the same bolt standoffs as the V2 so… same foot room

That’s interesting, I didn’t know that. I don’t necessarily see an upside to the v2’s then. I guess you trade packability for an extra 9” of climb per 3 sticks.

I do know 3 V2s stack smaller than 2 V1s. I posted a pic somewhere on here showing that. Just for S&Gs....What's the total height of 3 micro doubles from the floor to the top of the 3rd stick dead center? My whole seat/shelf is pretty much available with 3 V2s. Looking straight down, I can see the batwing, so Im not sure if I would even need them to be more packable than they are. I guess the tradeoff is 4ish ounces per stick for the extra 3" in height. I think if you have either, you're probably better off keeping them and not switching to the other unless that 4 oz or 3" extra mean that much to you.

3 V2s from floor to dead center of the top of the 3rd stick is about 3 7/16".
