Made in China

I think OOAL make awesome products. This isn’t directed to them specifically but to any company that claims made in USA. How can you verify it? You can’t! Unless you get a CMTR (Certified Material Test Report) you will never know if it’s actually coming from a mill in the states. You could verify if it was manufactured in the USA though. Furthermore, many mills in USA are foreign owned. How do y’all feel about that?

What’s the concern, if it’s made by Americans or if it’s made by Americans out of American made materials or if it is made by Americans out of American made materials by a company owned by Americans?
My concern is American jobs. The more the better. Secondary concern is quality. While China may make some quality products, I find most of their stuff is mass produced crap. Companies with good QC that get their material from overseas have to assess quality as well as their own personal ethics and values to determine if that is what they want to bring to market. Ultimately we decide with our wallet.

OOAL is awesome and I don't really care where their material comes from because I know they stand behind what they fabricate.

I have noticed some companies advertise made in America, but that stamp doesn't apply to all the products that carry their name. Its a little disingenuous in my opinion, but it is within the rules of using that "Made in America" stamp from what I understand about it.

I work for a company based in the UK. Doesn’t bother me as long as they pay me in US dollars. I support a lot of companies that makes things all over the world.

I bought some sticks from OOAL recently. The made in USA claim played no part in that decision. But I do like supporting Americans by purchasing products that they produce, when ever I can feasibly do so.

His stuff is clearly made in the USA. Hell you can watch him make it everyday on Facebook. :)

Unless u specify when ordering the material it's a 50/50 shot on where it'll come from. I have noticed in the last year or 2 more and more made in US ....80% domestic 20% import is my uneducated guess on the stuff we order at work. There is more often than not a price difference if u specify you want domestic material

Does anyone know about Wild Edge? I didn't see anything on the website about source of materials or manufacturing, although I believe they manufacture their stepps on-site in CT.

Don’t know about materials but they are definitely made in the US and on site I believe.

I think we are all just pissed off at the China crap. But we did it to ourselves. It was the cheapest options, but now this is what we get. I am not talking about COVID. I am talking about how the U.S. government political machine is a slave to China and their influences around the world. Always undermining the U.S.

I think that you can almost guarantee that big name brand products will in some shape or form involve china. Most not all. If your concerned about this you have a almost equal chance that buy "smaller" companies products, and them being made in the us from us sourced materials. Most not all. Id choose companies like cranford, opal, wild edge, aerohunter, and so on because even if the material may not be able to be confirmed in some cases, they have extremely high standards, are manufactured her at home. Creating jobs, putting out extremely high quality products, and of the companies I've personally been in contact with, have impressive customer support. Now not everything I buy is american made, I'm not rich, but certain things, it's no question who I'm buying from!

Out On A Limb Mfg is running a 15% off sale on everything on the website this weekend. Since they can't travel to shows they are passing the savings on as well as demoing products on their Facebook live video. I picked up a set of sticks and the quality and workmanship are awesome not to mention lightweight and compact!

The list gets real small when you get to that level.
I know Hill People Gear and Kifaru are on that list. Not sure who else, but it would be interesting information to know.
There's a guy I've seen on Instagram...T&K hunting gear. Makes things like bino harnesses, bow slings, and bags. He's an interesting character. Former military, has a "screw China and screw everybody who disagrees with me kind" of attitude. Everything thing in his gear is made in USA. Recently he even changed one of his suppliers even though they were based in the US...I think they were owned by a foreign company or the shop was basically a sweat shop so he ditched them.

That makes me sad to know the beast sticks are made overseas. Didn’t realize that. But not a huge surprise I guess either. I still bet they’re really good and better than any others I’ve owned so far. Got my 1 stick still on order still for 1 sticking. Not everything made in China or overseas is always bad.

Which stick are you going use for 1 sticking? I seen where LWCG is going to come out with a short double step stick. Thinking about getting it or the short beast stick.

Cool. Will be interested to see what they come out with. I have a mini beast stick on order. I love the design and love that there’s no moving parts. Was thinking about taking advantage of OOAL 15% off but I think I’ll be happy with the beast stick and everything else I already have now.

I will settle for made in North America if possible. Canada is a trading nation. We produce a lot of natural resources. We depend on trade. But my preference is to buy from fair trading friends. Much of the pork I have produced for years has been shipped world wide. USA, China, Japan and other places. But I have bought USA made hog equipment. I drive an American made pickup. And a Canadian made Honda CRV. American made tractors and one made in Germany in 1977. I travel in American made airplanes to visit family. Some of your banks are Canadian owned.

Here's the big picture if America lets foreign governments, specially interest groups, millionaires and billionaires to donate huge Amounts of money to America elections your going have alot corruption. America needs finance it's own elections by the taxpayers. I wish democrats and republicans could unite on this issue. Its so easy for the Chinese to pay off are politicians there's no resistance at all. Thier are alsk governments that support terrorism that donate to our elections. The American economy has become a oligarchy over the last 40yrs

Exactly. Problematic to say the least

I agree with you, but there are many loopholes that allow manufacturers to use made in America even if the raw materials are sourced elsewhere. Sort of the like the food industry touting food as being all natural and you look into a certain food and it filled with preservatives
