Making the switch - handheld release help

I was unimpressed with the holder, I had one where the 2 sided tape let go of the rubber, not my release. It also didn't hold onto my string very well, any amount of movement on my bow and it would pop off.
Hmm. Were you able to attach it to the serving? Or just the string? Guess I ask because mine is attached to the serving and it holds just fine.

Same lol went with the 1/8 even though I currently run a 3/16 as per their suggestions to size down...we’ll see :)
Them small peeps are fine for target shooting but not so much hunting (especially low light) IME. Maybe you have great eyes and it won't bother you....

Wow, seems lots of people are looking to switch, me included. I'm going to try the Carter Insatiable 2 just because I can borrow it versus buy it. I should get it tomorrow so I can let you know my initial impressions of it once I get some shots using it.

So now that I've shot this release (it's actually the Insatiable, not the 2). First impressions were great. Complete surprise release every time. Only hang up for my was it was awkward for me to connect it to the D loop. I'm sure I'll figure that out with more time but it definitely wasn't a natural thing for me. I could see where having the thumb location adjustable could be handy but this release fit me just fine being fixed location. I want to shoot with my hunting gloves no before I would run out and buy one though...

I have a 3 and 4 finger Stan shootoff and a carter chocolate lite 4 finger. I like the 4 finger Stan the best and really enjoy shooting with it. I had a truball boss X before those two. I used a spot hogg wise guy last year for hunting though and will keep using it.

Best entry level thumb release for the money might be the Hot Shot Vapor. It'll get you into the game without having to spend enough to cover a new bow...
Can you take some pics of this release? The website shows exactly one pic. Laying flat on the table showing the thumb side more than the website pic. Wondering mainly how far out the thumb sits outside of the frame of the release.

So the actual thumb piece screws in? Looks like you have your screwed out a little ways. Does the release come with any shorter bars that thumb piece mounts to?
LOL actually that's how mine came. Yeah the thumb button screws onto the shaft and is secured by means of a tiny set screw; thus you can change the angle of the thumb button. So looking at the third pic @Red Beard posted you could rotate the thumb button on the shaft/post so it's sitting at more of an angle. I might back mine out a bit more as I have pretty wide hands. No, it doesn't come with any other shafts/posts but if you were careful you might be able to machine so more threads onto the included shaft and then cut some off to make it shorter.
Here's a couple more pics showing how it fits in my hand. I have the button pegged all the way to the rear as I like it buried in the web of my hand.
