Mantis Saddle shipping status

yep this is exactly what I did and why I ordered a Mantis. I have a hunting trip mid Nov and I placed my order on 9/6 I figured the 10week shipping from aerohunter would cut it way to close, so I went with the 6-8 week shipping from tethrd figuring I would have it for sure. Now after hearing some of the issues I might be in my sitdrag this year..
And that right there is marketing. Find out your competitors delivery timeline, make that your longest delivery timeline, then give customers the hope (false hope maybe? ) that the product could, maybe, potentially be delivered 4 weeks earlier. But definitely not later than the cimpetitor. Of course the new customer who is anxious to try a saddle is going to jump at the bit to maybe have it earlier... they're not lying, just playing the numbers.
 
... A big reason I decided to go with them was the involvement here ...

I think it should be made VERY VERY VERY clear, that Tethrd has ZERO affiliation with this site. The "founding Fathers" and prostaff were/are contributing members to the forum's knowledge base and content- Just like the thousands of other active and contributing members of this site. The difference between Tethrd and other Vendors is Tethrd takes advantage of this platform, its openness and the community here as a marketing platform to push and control the narrative of their products, shipping issues, and even communication channels. What other company in any industry if you cant get ahold of them(VIA THEIR PHONE NUMBER) do you go to a site which is focused on the same activity or brand, but 100% independent of the company and get support. NONE. That is not what this platform is for.
 
I don’t think anyone believes this is saddle hunter by tethered. But they take full advantage of this site so of course when the narrative goes the other way it will and should be here for anyone to find.

Someone has been nice enough to offer to show me the ropes and let me try a few different saddle setups this weekend. Hopefully after that I’ll have a better idea of what I will want and decide if I’m just going to wait on the mantis or try something else. I don’t like where this has gone but I think people should know what they’re getting into. Plenty of us are just hearing about saddle hunting and ordering something right away with minimal research because of the long wait times.

I'm just extremely irritated from the fact that they said that they had all large orders SHIPPED through 8/1 two weeks ago and mine that was ordered 5 days after that hasn't even been processed yet. I was sure that I was going to get a shipping email the week after the 9/7 update and here we are at the end of the second week after that with nothing to show for it. There must have been a ton of folks that ordered saddles the first week of March.
 
I ordered a Mantis last week. Do I expect to see during the hunting season when demand is at it’s peak?......absolutely not. I knew that going in and made sure I have plenty of other options so I’m in no way inconvenienced.

I’m really surprised by the bashing that I see going on over unreasonably high expectations. We all like to see stuff at our doorstep the day after we order but that’s just not realistic with a small company like Tethrd. Saddle hunting has exploded in popularity so much more than anybody ever expected and it’s very easy to see the people making them are overwhelmed at every single saddle company out there. It’s no different with climbing devices like WE Stepps, Beast Sticks, LW Custom Gear etc...etc.

Instead of complaining about how bad they are doing how about offering support for these companies that were basically created because of us the SaddleHunter community. These are great times to be a saddle hunter. All it takes is a little bit of patience. Sadly these days everyone has the RIGHT NOW attitude.

There is no right now attitude going on here. What we have is complete failure to communicate honestly with paying customers. I dont know if you have read this entire thread or not but if you haven't maybe you should. We all understand that this is crunch time for hunting companies. All they need to do is spend 5 min of their time and communicate with their customer base and problems would be solved. And yes were all sitting around like little kids waiting for Santa to drop off the hot new toys of the year.

I was quoting his response to me. I guess I added “full”. I like that you all are on here I thought that was obvious. That, the mesh saddle and few other things is why I spent my $$ with tethered. My only complaint is the misinformation.

I agree, you guys have been a big part of the site since the beginning. And I know myself and lot of members have benefited and appreciated your input, advice, and comments. But, the types and focus of interactions of posts on this site by those who work for Tethrd have drastically changed.

I take it you're referring to me since I've been posting about my hunt this past week. I can promise you this doesn't change how fast things are shipped. There are guys working almost seven days a week shipping. I know it's frustrating, but when we give shipping times it's a "best guess" on what the sew houses will deliver each week. Things ARE getting faster, even though it doesn't seem like it for some.



We receive large lots of saddles from our sew houses. When we receive one of these lots, many orders are processed and fulfilled on that day. If we had an infinite supply, we would ship every day. But we can only ship as fast as our sew houses produce. We continue to add sew houses and capacity to existing sew houses.


Nobody knows shipping times better than Ernie and his wife Val. There are four manufacturers making saddles now and the wait time is about to be a thing of the past...

I get some frustration but this thread is a little comical. Imagine having your kids read some of these comments.
I think it's AWESOME what companies like tethrd are doing. Keep it up!
Small business, direct to consumer, American Capitalism at it's finest! I have heard it's mostly if not all American made too!
I am anxious for mine to show up, same as the beast sticks but come on fellas, relax a bit... You all would be just as mad if they didn't try to give you "estimates".
They could just do the First lite, Kuiu approach and just wait 6 months until everything is "in stock" before selling it, i'm sure you'd all love that as well.
I would be interested to see the amount of "saddle hunters" and interest/buzz that the company tethrd has helped bring to the community. I bet this forum has gained a lot of new followers over the past 6 months.

Totally agree. I want that to get better and it will. So many things going on that aren’t seen and I understand the frustration that many have. It’s a constant juggling act and it takes time to put things into motion and it makes it harder with the small staff that we have. Not making excuses at all, because it could absolutely be better and we are working on fixing that.

Thank you. That’s all I’m looking for is honest info. It really doesn’t matter what I do but if customers are feeling like they’re being lied to or manipulated it will hurt the company. I’ve said several times I want y’all to succeed. I’ve been self employed my whole life and I like to know what people think about my business and the image we are putting forth. So I guess that’s all I’ve been trying to say is hey tethered this looks bad can you fix it.

I dont want to get in an actual argument over this, thats silly. You asked for examples and I provided them.

Did those responses you made to this thread add value to the saddlehunter.com site and its purpose/goals, or did it add value and aim to better the image of Tethrd? As an active member of a community forum such as this and an employee of a company which is in the same industry you have the responsibility to ask yourself that every time you make a post. If the post is in the interest of the company, you are taking advantage of this platform.
 
@flinginairos I think the large concern/issue is that when customers are not getting a response through the tethrd website, the proper channels, quick enough they come here and post their issue publicly and get a response quickly. So that is becoming a customer service channel that they are using to get the attention to their concern faster. I agree that you are just responding to questions and concerns and not pushing product. But by circumventing the tethrd channels of communication, it has become an informational based customer service platform here. Which is not what SH is about.
 
They are focusing on orders and not so much on updates. Would you rather have updates or your orders ?
