I voted for the flex. It is more comfortable than the kite and the mantis in my opinion. Can't say enough good things about it.

I think it will be great but I don’t know until I sit in it for 8 hours this fall.

I’ve tried all Trophyline models, kestrel, mantis and hybrid. I still own all Trophyline models and hybrid. But I found comfort in all of the saddles. My favorite most comfortable is Trophyline leather roadtrips.

Over a leather greens really????

DIY fleece. outside of that i find every single one of them about the same comfort - to me comfort is best addressed by tether height, bridge length, what you stand on and where you put the load bearing straps, netting, pleats, whatever. the only exception is when a saddle is over engineered and there is a fold, double material right at a pressure point.
DIY Fleece wasn't an option in the poll.

Yeah. I've been in mine a lot lately getting everything in my system dialed in. Keep in mind I've never owned a regular kestrel so it may be similar. When I created the elastic band mod it helped a lot and with an adjustable webbing bridge it's just about perfect for me

If the treesuit would have been an option, that would have gotten my vote. Without that I voted for the sit drag.

Probably why I didn't vote

I only have 1 entire season in the mantis (2018)
1 entire season in the kestrel (2017)
1 entire season in the org aerohunter (could have been two, don't have my log books but it was the year it came out)
2 entire seasons in modified sit drag
1 season in a DIY (modified the Aerohunter by only using the waist portion)
countless seasons in my trophylines
BTW - I never used a fleece saddle for an entire season - the mantis came out and ended that quest for me
I never used my kite during hunting
I did not even buy a flex

so I have limited exposure to some of them.

IMHO - there is more to becoming proficient and able to objectively evaluate a piece of gear then unboxing it, throwing it on a tree or two, slamming out a youtube video..... it takes time - especially something as subjective as comfort. Most comfort issues with a saddle are, IMHO, operator error or inexperience and not the fault of the saddle. For years i was miserable using saddles. Why???? because I listened to some so called "experts" and got crappy advice on how to tether in. one call to John E. Solved that for me in 2 minutes. Comfort has never been the major concern for me since then. Bulk, noise and functionality far outweigh the comfort issue.

Pretty much the same, I use the road trips more due to having the lineman’s loops. I need to take my greens to a seamstress and have her turn the lineman’s belt into loops for me! Then I’ll use the greens more than I do. But I freaking love the roadtrips and it seems to bring me better luck

A very honest statement right there.

I could take any of the saddles listed, use it everyday/all day long this upcoming season and not have an issue with comfort.

Then why own so many?

Easy, until the mantis came out I hadn't found the perfect saddle for me and how I hunt (at least not commercially). I tend to form my opinions on my own by trying things out for myself.

I've had the aero hunter evolution, sitdrag, homemade sitdrag, hammock/fleece style saddle, Kestrel, and Mantis. I voted for the Kestrel. I keep going back to it. My hammock/fleece felt the best but I never hunted from it so I never stayed in it for more than 10 min. I never found that perfect pattern that I liked and just ran out of time playing with it. Satisfied enough with my kestrel that I don't feel like tinkering any more. I was able to get comfortable in all these saddles for short term. After 15 min or so, I'm readjusting and it feels great again, then repeat 15 min later. The kestrel, I feel I fiddle with it less and stay comfortable longer. I bet a size 2 would be even better. I do a lot of sitting and leaning, but if a saddle isn't comfortable to sit in, I don't want it. Periods of sitting is important to me. No way one saddle will be the best for everyone. Just not gonna happen. This pole is kinda pointless. Too many different styles of saddle hunting and body shapes.

@DaveT1963 i didn’t vote either. It’s very subjective and too early to call on the flex unless you were lucky enough to be testing it out pre production. Some saddles are definitely more comfortable for different people regardless of setup. Small changes in setup can make a big difference. It may not seem any different when you tether in but it’s about hour three when I can start to tell how comfortable a saddle will be. After 8 hours I know. Where one saddle shines over the other for me is long sits on consecutive days. The second 6-10 hr sit in a row and you are evaluating everything down to the seams in your pants. Heck for a 2-3 hr hunt I often keep my wallet in my back pocket. A week long hunt during the rut and you know exactly how comfortable something is. I loved going to saddlepalooza and trying out others gear. Like you said though you can’t evaluate comfort in a few minutes. You can get a general idea but not a conclusive decision. I like the fact that there are so many people getting into saddle hunting. I don’t like review videos of someone opening a box and evaluating just how awesome a saddle is. It’s kind of like choosing a spouse. Things that you barely notice now will drive you crazy two or three long sits in a row. I’m glad you found your perfect saddle and hope everyone else finds theirs regardless on brand. I’m also going to say that comfort isn’t the only important feature of a saddle but if you are sitting 6-10 hours or even longer it will trump others.

The elastic will be hard to keep shut without modifying. So far I really don’t care if it stays open It is similar to a kestrel but is likely be more comfortable for me. Time will tell.
Sizing really has an affect on comfort. I did not like a size 1 kestrel but really liked a size 2. Some guys are the opposite

I remember @redsquirrel really preferred a size 2 as well

Gotcha, I always though tthe roads trip was a little thinner leather? Whats one weigh? The greens in medium is like 5.25lbs with original linemans belt and a pair of TL suspenders. BTW, I decided to keep mine for a while. We'll see what the future brings.

the most comfortable saddle is the one that fits you. Still think its the guido's web. I have had the web, the original aerohunter, and the kestrel. Guess the issue really comes down to what hurts the most when your done? Leg where straps cross? Knee? Back? cause of my back, i like the web. This forum has taught me allow about adjusting for the kestrel, or the aerohunter for comfort.
But I will also say I have fallen asleep in a guido and a millenium m100..not in the others.
