Anyone have a picture of how the pouches mount? The Molle on the hips look too narrow and if you go around the webbing you cover up the slide release?!?

they should attach to the Pal’s webbing just like any Molle pouch. I’m not sure what you mean by to narrow?

Those who have checked out this pack system and the F1. How do they compare. I'm really trying to settle in on the perfect setup.

Molle connections are like 3” on the hip and the pouch is like 6

All depends on what features you want

still not following. This is the old pack but I thought the pals on the new pack were similar size.

I can’t tell what’s going on in your second photo, but I’ll take picture of what I’m talking about shortly

Ok so I over exaggerated a little bit you can tell the size difference where it is suppose to connect right? A7623A2B-58E2-4C68-8FEB-EEED7D3F8D8A.jpeg

If it’s all on the molle it gets folded a little. On the other side I tried mounting it to the plastic hip piece instead on the back side? Seems right? 3rd pic48501FD9-18F0-4B9C-8505-7C52AD2D3CF7.jpeg5BBFE8C7-F021-4E3A-80CB-863BE1926C07.jpeg5D4ED76D-C397-4076-9626-F819E3D155F4.jpeg

@Plebe @GCTerpfan the pack fits really nice and feels good with all my heavy winter clothes in it. I have found a way to pack stuff for warm weather but I’m not sure if I love it. I’m hesitant to take the tags off. If I take them off I’ll have a better chance of figuring out the pack from field use but I also forfeit returning or reselling… gahhView attachment 77809View attachment 77811

Something still looks off to me with the fitment.

Between the two most recent photos, the belt looks better positioned in the second image and low in the first. This corresponds to the yoke height being low on the shoulders in the first and high in the second (way too much gap imo).

In both the load lifters are far below 45, which is fine for day mode but not good for carrying a load.

I don't have answers, just questions. Do you have weight in the pack? How far are the load lifters extended? Have you snugged down the shoulder straps.

Proper fitting sequence is: start with belt, shoulder strap pulls, and load lifter straps loose. Tighten belt, snug shoulder straps, tighten load lifters. If you've followed that, I'd think the yoke is now slightly too high.

Hard for me to say what's what, it just seems off to me.

It’s fits great now, really a good feeling pack. The second picture it is higher up on my hips. Unfortunately I can’t keep the dang thing there no matter how much I try to cinch it down. I could have taken more slack out of the should straps in the second photo, but when it set down onto my hips it tends take up that slack. There isn’t much weight in it right now, probably only 15 lbs or so. I will make more adjustments if I’m carrying weight but I’m not really upset how it is carrying now that I brought the yoke up some more. I didn’t want the load lifters super high while I’m not carrying anything that why it’s still a little low.

I have found a way to use the pack with the bag empty. The first is wrap the strap around the handle like y’all showed! Empty or nearly empty is closer to how I’ll use the pack for half of the season while it’s still warm. The way it is now I only have to undo the two buckles and I can slide my fix platform down in. I like not having to undo a ton of stuff to get to my gear. My saddle(if I’m not wearing it in) and my 2 tethers for climbing easily fit quickly in the outer kangaroo pouch. All I have to do is pop the lid up and they’re a quick grab. Then my light, therms cell etc. will fit in the lid and the side pouches no problem. I still need to figure out these hip pouches though. They’re smaller than I like and they’re also too far back for my liking. Thoughts?

So, the answer to all your problems is...swap out that terrible belt, :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I really don’t see what’s wrong with the belt? Every bag I own slides down off my hips a little. I wish I could figure out how to connect the hip pouches but I don’t think that’s that big of deal lol

Oh and like you said in the other thread the waist belt is more difficult to cinch than other waist belts

I don't want to push you into a greater investment on something you're already not sure of. Especially as I can't say what option would be best for you personally.

But these problems (sub-optimal hip pouch position, belt slide) are imo solvable.

If it needs a new hip belt im just going to sell the pack. It ain’t worth to me. I have the kuiu venture 2300 that I already love and a m1 carrier frame I could leave at my bike if I kill something. I wanted a pack that could do both but I’m a cheapskate and I’ve already spent way too much money on packs.

I see, the pals webbing used to be on the wings themselves and were wider. I tried to show that in my pic above. I don't like the sleeve system on the new packs as much, especially now that I know they aren't wide enough.

Here's a little better pic of the pals webbing on the wings of the old version.
