NC Archery..

Count me in. I'm not far from Uwharrie so I am pretty flexible about the date. I did some hiking there this summer and thought it would be nice to go back for a day or two of hunting.

Archery season it's dead. I usually have the woods to myself. Gun season it's crazy
I am coming back from Iraq this weekend... No time to scout and Archery ends at the end of the month doesn't it? I wish I had time to check it out and figure out where to hunt back in there.

Well, i might be up for it. I got to see. I just got to get use to my saddle first (newbie), which i plan on practicing a lot in the yard. Also, i found last Friday (yes day before season opener) that i lost the land i have been working on all spring/summer for this season, because of some BS. So i do not have nowhere to hunt of my own.

Archery season does not end, it's just black powder is coming in as well and then gun mid October. You can hunt with the bow till January 1, 2020. Wait, that applies to Moore and Hoke County private land. Don't have the dates for Sandhills Gameland in my head.

My son's closing got bumped to this coming Thursday, so I will be helping them move and cannot make the hunt at Uwharrie. We had limited response due to the timing anyway. Let's plan something in advance for next season and get good turnout. Good luck to any that still plan to go next Saturday!

Greetings from Vienna, Austria. Had to go on a trip, have too much going on myself this upcoming weekend. Won’t be as well to go to Uwharrie this weekend. All in for planning a get together next season. If someone wants to meet up during this season at Sandhills Gameland just to take a look at a saddle or climbing methods, I’m always happy to meet there. If I'm in town that is....

I just started with a bow this year and was bummed. With being mostly a weekend hunter, and a couple busy weekends... and archery season is gone. All these cats on the youtubes hunting deer for months with bows. I spent a great deal of cash this year with bow and that stuff. My never ending PayPal bill out to Tethered. And for 2-3 weekends at best... oh and I can’t hunt on Sunday’s. Why bother. So I asked someone.. then looked it up.

Am I wrong and just waiting on getting my quiver smacked by a warden?

The way I read the 2019 regs is that bow any season... and this is from the eregulations.com from a google search for NC bow rules:

Now then, get your equipment--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

That’s correct you can bow hunt during any season. You have to wear orange though during gun/muzzleloader season. Thats mostly when I bow hunt its cooler too. I think you can only hunt private land on Sundays. If Im not mistaken.

True. They did pass a bill allowing the state to open gamelands for Sunday hunting but it has not been done anywhere yet. The blaze orange requirement is an easy one in NC. It doesn't state a specific garment like best or hat and has no square inch requirement. All that is needed is something that can be seen from all sides. Also can be blaze camo. I have a thin blaze camo neck gaiter that I just wear around my hat or neck that checks off the requirement.

Orange isn’t required for Bowhunters if hunting your own private land during the gun seasons.
