NC Archery..

Make one using tubular webbing. The commercial models all have short, choppy steps. Make one with 20-24" steps if you do. YouTube videos will show you how to tie them, very easy.
Awesome thank you ill check it out

You can make them pretty easy with tube webbing. I have a one step that loops over the top and hangs 16” down from bottom step. With stock sticks and that aider I can get the platform at 19’. Puts me shooting from 22-23ish.

And to the post about learning from the groups up. That advice is the same reason I haven’t cut my sticks yet. Been up and down the trees in the back yard dozens of times and today’s was without the aider and was probably comical.

Now then, get your equipment--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Made it out of webbing and flexible schedule 80 tubing.

Missed the opener myself but my cousin arrowed two does on the opener. Great fruit year in the high country, apples are raining down.

Unfortunately the western part of the state didn’t get a drop of rain out of Dorian.

Anyone seeing acorns dropping? I'm hunting, just east of Charlotte.
Had a few dropping while hunting this weekend for the opener, Wake Co. area, most that I saw on the ground (still a little green) were because of the hurricane/wind in my area.

They falling in va bout 2hrs north of ya cuz I just buried a milk cow.from them

I was in Uwharrie and saw many on the ground. The I saw 14 acres of pines. And then many more acorns.

Only saw a doe and 2 fawns opening afternoon - hunting a red oak feed tree - one of the fawns was under the tree for almost 2 hours eating all the acorns lol ! More hunting to come this week....

Throwing it out there for a potential NC saddle meet/hunt... I propose we do a very loosely organized hunt morning and evening on Saturday, October 12, at Uwharrie game lands since it is more central for the state, and meet at the El Dorado Outpost (4021 NC-109, Troy, NC 27371) around midday for lunch and gear comparisons. Sorry, but that is the only Saturday on my calendar that is not already booked for other hunts or family bdays between now and the end of the year. It will likely be warm, so midday is a good time to catch up. @KelvinM12 and Barry from my crew will be with me. Who's interested?

It doesn't look like I'd be able to make that date either (saving those vacation days for southern OH in Nov). My work schedule is all over the place, so I do have days off during the week and some weekends, if anyone is interested? Otherwise definitely game for locking in a date next year.
