I am happy to help. A link to the kN to lbs converter is a good start
dang you been on here 2 years? seems like yesterdayI get frustrated, but I was in the same boat 2 years ago. Red and the rest of y'all went easy on me, and I gradually learned.
The hunting demographic isn't always the most tech-savvy group. Forum ettiquete and navigation was a new deal for me. Heck, I'm still learning.
But it would be nice to cut down on the "noise." Only so many ROS vs Platform threads I can swipe through.

On one hand, it feels like I've been here forever. On the other, it feels like I just walked in!

Overviews of saddle and climbing method considerations, options, and terminology are certainly helpful. What's on the forums now is already super helpful, but i can see where people less oriented to do their own independent research might gloss over it. Also it's missing the last year or so worth of innovation/trends.It should be a place for them to learn the basic styles, platforms and saddles along with all the terminology we frequently use.
And yet, I was told at my annual last week that I was one of the most productive team members, and always stepped up to handle side projects.Make sure your employer never sees these numbers:

Says more about how low the standards are than how special I am...

Been here a year. I'll let you know when I find out.Wow..what's everyone else doing??
As long as they leave you alone, who cares what they're doing right??Been here a year. I'll let you know when I find out.
Seriously, we do work. But if you're an efficiency-oriented person you can do a week's work in a day. Chase a 5-hour with a Redbull, crank the dubstep, and get to typing!
great idea!Just a thought as I am pretty new here but I have been using forums for some time now so I've mastered the search button,
What if in FAQ instead of just giving as many answers as possible maybe just give them key words for searching.
For Platforms search - Predetor, Lone wolf Custom, out on a limb, etc.
For Ring of steps seach - bullman, squirrel steps, ameristeps
For adjusting linemans belt - prussic, ropeman, aider
For climbing methods - spurs, bolts, sticks,
For rope types - amsteel, samson, paracord\
For saddle type info - Tetherd, Kestrel, Kite, Mantis, JX3, sit drag
Something like that so they could weed it out themselves. Also maybe add abbreviations
ROS - Ring of steps
SRT - ??? I still dont know what that one stands for.
Sorry for the lousy spelling. Just having a quick break at work.

FAQ threads are usually overwhelming. Keep it short if you want anyone to read it. Newbs should be only able to post in the newb forum until they reach 50 post or more. They should have access to see the whole site but can’t post. That may force them to spend more time on the newb forum. The newb forum should be well organized so it’s easy for them to navigate basic topics. It should be a place for them to learn the basic styles, platforms and saddles along with all the terminology we frequently use. It will help them communicate and search better once they can enter the rest of the forum. Videos are great for everyone to learn. They should be entered in specific sub forums within the newb forum. These new guys are great and have a lot to offer. We just need to send them thru basics first.
I like writing! And projects that don't involve working with the government! And I'm slow at work now that everybody has realized their New Year's resolution to go back to school was silly...
Let me think. For starters...
When will my Mantis/Predator/Kestrel/Kite/Steps/Sticks/dogfood/essential oils/hemmoroid cream ship?
February 31st. If you haven't received it by then, call 1-800-867-5309 for Universal Customer Support. Seriously, we're a hunting forum, not a logistics support company. Ask the manufacturer.
Can I use _________ for a tether/linemans/ bridge?
Is it rated for 23kn? No? Then absolutely not? Yes? Maybe. Are you a twinkies and ribeye kinda guy? Or a quinoa and spinach feller? Got kids? Believe in an afterlife? Like subprime stocks? What's your risk tolerance? How well do you bounce? If other people aren't using it, maybe there's a reason.
Does this saddle make my junk look big?
