I was gifted this for Christmas, and was able to get time the last couple days to get it set up.

I probably need to go to a weaker spine, but I’ve been shooting it with these 500s and I’m amazed at how quiet the bow is.

I switched to shooting a traditional bow the last 1.5-2 seasons, so I’m still new. This is the first bow I’ve had that didn’t have the more modern grip and a shelf. I put a dot of Velcro on the side.

Out to 15-18 yards, I feel good shooting it. Does anyone have any tips or advice with this type of bow?

That's awesome!
No tips on how to shoot it but I'll remind you if you don't already know...you can't leave it strung 24/7 like you can with modern stick bows.

Yea, I called the guy that made it and made sure I was up to speed on anything like that.

Redbeard it’s a bow made by a guy named Joe Roe. He puts on some classes about bow making at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Ar. It’s nothing fancy, but fun to shoot and very quiet. 45# at 27”

How could I get in touch with the fella?

Yeah you would need at least 600 spine in carbon and 45/50# in woodies for that sweet piece of sage. I’m working on a few bows now and Osage is KING in bow wood I feel !

The bow quiver may mess with limb timing because the non-bending portion of the handle is so small. I would try shooting with and without the quiver and see what you think. Creek walker makes a one piece strap on quiver that you can customize the distance between attachment points, which would probably allow you to run a bow quiver on this bow without messing with the limb timing/movement.

All that said, if you're happy with how it shoots now and your accuracy at the distances you intend to shoot you don't really need to change anything.
