New to the world of saddle hunting, don't have one yet but I'm constantly watching videos & reading on here. You guys amaze me with what you do in a tree. My 2 biggest things are how do deal with cold weather & how do you go to the bathroom (#2) Haha. I'm here to learn.

Well, I never dropped a duece out a treestand, always got down and moved away a bit, I do the same with a saddle. The cold is dealt with the same way I would in a stand as well. Only thing that is "interesting" is adding a top layer.

Hahahhaha. This bathroom issue really has me concerned, there's been quite a few times that i barely made it running down a simple ladder stand. Now i gotta worry about a 20 minute decent from a setup.

Sounds like rappelling is your best option :)

Welcome from Virginia. If you're using sticks or steps climbing down only takes a minute once you're all set-up. Simply hook up your lineman's belt, disconnect your bridge and climb down. Doesn't take much longer than disconnecting your safety harness in a tree stand. And it's WAY faster than getting down with a climber stand.
