New Gear for 2023, Go!

Both?!?!?! You sir are my hero.
I don’t know if I’ll keep both. Just couldn’t make up my mind when the gift card deal was going. I ordered the .75 first and the more I read I felt like I was maybe missing out on the .5. We will see how it goes. I’m 6’1 and 260 so I’ll most likely settle on the .75.

Got a .5 and a .75 delivered today and they both included the new straps. Not sure what the old ones were like, but these are making me happy I ordered a Kuiu suspension system. I will keep tinkering to try to get them comfortable. I’ll end up using one set for sure.
What's wrong with the straps?

I need to tweak and adjust them some more, but right now they just aren’t comfortable. I didn’t have a lot of time to mess with them. Stand’s arrived on my lunch break and I configured the straps on the .5 and did a few adjustments but so far :weary:

Does not matter what straps you use. There is zero practical load lift capability on the .5 due to its height. (Unless you are a small child, I suppose.). One set of shoulder straps may be more comfortable than another, but you will be challenged to ever transfer a significant amount of the weight from your shoulders to your hips. The .75 should be better in that regards.

You sure they are the new ones? Do they have the load lifter straps?

Load lifter straps, strapped on a tree stand are worthless in my opinion without having the stand mounted to a real pack frame, cranking those suckers down and drawing all the weight onto your hips will only work with a nice belt to go with it and some sort of padding on your back, unless LWCG has plans of releasing a nicer belt to go with it the idea is flawed in my opinion, and even if they do you still have to deal with proper torso length and on a stand like the .5 that’s not happening for most people, way to short, the only 2 options for a tree stand are better, more padded straps and deal with it, or mount it directly to a real pack frame with a true suspension.

Well that’s disappointing
I have had more time to work with them and now that I have them adjusted they are not horrible. They are nothing special either in my opinion. Yes, they are tons better than the typical seat belt straps you usually get with other stands, but if you already have padded straps I wouldn’t spend and you extra to get these.

No sir that you can not be right. I’m sure all the problems of a harness and load lifters were solved by the great minds at LWCG

Please point me in the direction of the company that solved all the treestand harness problems.

I disagree that load lifter straps aren’t effective on treestands. LWCG hasn’t struck gold, but they continue to address problems. Get your kicks in now before they get it right.

How many versions is that going to take? Getting as bad as one sticks best ever until we update them, then it is the new best ever.

In all seriousness I am pretty happy with the tx5 harness. Light weight and comfortable.

TX5 doesn’t have it worked out yet either, imo. So….more versions.

You referring to the Minimalist saddle?
