New Gear for 2023, Go!

I'm just of the opinion that we need to affect the forest as little as possible in general, this includes damaging the trees, for every one abandoned stand we see there would be dozens of screw in setups left forever. We have the ability to hunt without causing damage, I for one will embrace it and leave the trees as healthy as I found them.
I don't know dude....climbers with teeth, sticks.with sharp standoffs , and platforms with teeth and sharp standoffs damage the bark just as much if not more

Having removed dozens of abandoned stands over the years, one its dangerous and two those screw in steps aren't coming out without cutting the tree down. Screw in steps 100% should be banned. That $2000 red oak isn't worth crap with screw in steps buried on the inside of it.

More important to me is that they reveal where I've been active to other hunters. If I find a spot based on wildlife sign that I think is worth hunting, last thing I want to do is hang a bright orange flag there before/after I hunt it showing others it's worth attention. Goes for screw ins, bark damage, etc.

Sorry, I need a few minutes off from attempting to have a good faith conversation about poison arrows, and repeatedly getting met with a dunk contest.

Gotta recharge the disagreeable battery…
Hmmm. You don't care for that huh? Weird

I had responsive customer service from them but the pure 75 was the worst sight I ever had. I sent it back 5 times. Last time they just sent me a brand new one back so I sold it. Never again…
Ha! That’s the sight I need to send back.

I’m struggling to recall a time I’ve dunked on someone here. Please point me in the direction of your implication.
For a guy who's "recharging disagreeable battery" you don't seem to like being disagreed with. Just an observation.

My apologies

I love being disagreed with!

I do prefer when the actual thing I’m saying is what is being disagreed with, though. That may be where the confusion is occurring.

Maybe so.

If so,

X dollars in lost lumber value.

X dollars jn porcupine removal costs(should it actually be a problem)

X dollars in hunter recruitment losses due to looking at porcupine trees.

Divide those costs by number of hunters generating the cost. There’s your fee/tax/permit price.

I promise it’s less per person than what is spent on climbing methods every year.

I'll be the first to admit i wanna outlaw and run spurs.... catch me if u can.... but those stupid things are expensive too
Spurs are legal on our WMA's but bolts and screw in steps are not.

Edit: I checked with a regional WMA manager just to confirm what I had been told and read but he said NO spurs can not be used.

I'm pretty interested in the climbers.

Sticks seem to just be iterations.

I wonder how long it will take Hawk to make the saddle climbing platform that weighs 10% more, and costs 70% less once they've been proven out.

The climbers aren't iterations?

Going back to what the thread is about, gear. Sheesh guys this thread has turned into the crying game.
