New Gear for 2023, Go!

Been thinking long and hard about these sticks. More negatives for me than positives. Also a little bothered by the last minute weight limit reduction.
Same here. I pre ordered. I’m the heavy weight so I will try them out. Then hold them to the 30 day return policy or go classified section for those of you smart enough to not be the typical first to try out something new guy. I also want to show size 14W and a 240lb guy on them and see what happens.

I’m a light fella so the weight thing doesn’t worry me, curious about the tabs is all…. but what other negatives are there for you? Trying to make sure it’s not something I didn’t think of as well.

I like to grab onto the steps when climbing. I won’t be able to grab onto these.

I also would like the use a hook style aider with these but doesn’t look like I can. That’s my biggest gripe with the one sticks.

They are heavier than one sticks by a small amount.

They don’t interlock when stacking.

I question how well they will grip the tree in the real world.

The are plastic reinforced with cf. cold and dropping them out of the tree concern me.

The lack of response to emails.

valid points, thanks for the reply man!

Looks like the XOP X2 sticks are listed on their website but are sold out. Anyone know if they were selling any or if they started out listed as Sold Out? I didn’t see a presale or anything.

I think all the new stuff is supposed to be out in June. So probably August realistically.

Yes. AH or WTH it about the same. It’s the best camo ever. The science behind it is amazing. The strong pattern makes animals blind and they close their eyes to relieve the pain. Boom, invisible

For those looking for a new pack Code of Silence has a new pack coming out in August. I got a glimpse of it at the Harrisburg Pa outdoor show this weekend. It's made of a wood blend material that's durable and quite to the touch. Hands down the best saddle hunting pack I've seen. Their cammo is impressive too.

Do you mean Code of Silence? Yes this pack looks very cool Bill Winke is using their camo. The guy who started the company used to be the garment/ camo guy for Cabela’s back in the day when they were putting out cutting edge camo and hunting clothing.

Can’t wait to see who’s first!

It’s about time something like this came out.
Predator Camo works the same way but this stuff looks very promising. I was in my IWOM in Predator fall gray this ML season, 6-8 deer were in front of me, I shot a buck and the rest of the deer stood there trying to figure out what just happened, I was literally moving to get my ML back so I could reload, which I did. The deer stood there while I was reloading my ML and I sat back down and they still stood there trying to figure out what had happened. I sat back down and waited and they finally worked their way to the feed fields for the evening. These disruptive patterns with a lot of white like snow camo work incredibly to eliminate our dark blob outlines. I mean this stuff even works on humans it is hard to pick out that guy in the stand.

I haven’t seen their stuff before, looks interesting. Does the pack have a frame?

That's the guy I talked to. He's also working on clothing designs for the saddle community. It's refreshing to know someone is working on a clothing line for us. The platform in the pack is a Trophyline ONYX so it fits the big boys too. August can't come soon enough!

It's not a full frame but more of a rigid incert in the back that can be added or removed. I put it on and it has the right amout of padding. It also has a removable padded waist belt, a drop out bow holder, an internal pocket for a water bladder, and side straps for sticks. It's well thought out.

Your observations are spot on, great pattern, scilent and warm material, reasonable price point, and designed by a hunter for hunters. The owner was a great guy to talk to and he was very interested in my thoughts on his products. He's currently working on a line of clothing for saddle hunters. If you get a chance to attend the show in Harrisburg stop by his booth. It's in the back left corner of the outfitter's hall. His current product line is excellent but I can't wait to see what he comes up with for saddle hunting. He's looking for our input so it's going to be excellent!
