New Gear Release 2022!

It would be that much better if they incorporated the leveling legs similar to what you see on the little giant ladders. I can think of a few places where I could use a ladder like this, but not for $200-320. FDBC493E-38C1-4CFD-9ADE-BE92BF7702D1.jpeg

First Lite Solitude now has a windproof membrane

I like a frame in Minnesota. If I’m carrying 8-12 lbs of climbing gear, deer down kit, range finder, trauma kit (I don’t go in the woods without a tourniquet, Sam splint, chest seals, decompression needle, and trauma dressing), and then several large bulky layers, it’s much more manageable with a frame pack.

I’m going to start this season with the Catquiver VII I bought this year, since I’ll be one sticking this year. But I bought an Eberlestock Renegade for $125, the X2 worked great last year hauling sticks, platform, and late season below freezing gear.

Any time I see someone say they walk in hunting without a backpack, with just stuff in their pockets, I can tell they don’t walk far or don’t live near the Canadian boarder.
I prefer a rucksack with internal stays or stiffners. An external frame just seems a bit much to me. But they're so popular if I stumble across one at a price I can't pass up I'll give it a go.

Another thing I like to do is carry a frame pack to within a couple hundred yards of my set area. Drop big pack and carry on with what goes up tree. Saves lots of walking when I kill

I keep my kill kit in a fanny pack, I can ground my ruck and bow somewhere, or drop it off at the truck. I've also stashed toboggans in the woods, brushed in, so i don't have to go all the way back to the truck when I kell something.

Eberlestock has the Renegade on sale for $125 right now, it’s a smaller version of the X2 (basically doesn’t have the wings) which I used all last year for carrying 4 sticks, platform, saddle, and late season cold weather clothing. I just didn’t like quite how big the X2 is in the tree and don’t need that big if I’m one sticking.

Just got the Renegade in the mail, I think it’s going to be awesome for one sticking. And I don’t see an issue carrying 4 sticks, a platform, and saddle on the outside if I choose to this year.

It weights about what a lot of rucksacks weight. I’m 6’1” and the X2 and Renegade fits me great, though there are people out there who are over 6’ who find the torso length too short on the Eberlestock packs.

i saw that ladder on their site last night. to be honest i thought it was a forum inside joke i'd missed, and that the ladder was this season's bucket. i've never hunted a cornfield though, so i guess can see where it could work pretty well hiding in the corn and popping up for a shot?

You couldn’t pay me $250k to get within 1000 yards of a python, I would rather fist fight a grizzly bear than see a snake lol, no thanks, I will stick to high taxes and snow storms lol.
Funny, that's how I am with spiders. Theyre the reason I won't scout in the summer lol. Almost walked into that giant last year. Noped outta there quick IMG_20210828_154423_compress45.jpg
