New Gear Release 2022!

Weren't there some folks here who made DIY soft saddle platforms. Something like this might be a starting point for something like that, as an exoskeleton, given it's safe.

Anyway, I'm only watching because the mechanics of these startups fascinates me.

No affiliations just ran in to it
But it's plastic!!! :frowning: Looks cool! If they don't price it way out into the atmosphere they'll sell a ton I'm guessing. Under $100 (I'd hope) for something that serves multiple purposes looks like a decent platform to me!

me too. I love business. I love watching the ecology of our particular niche of saddle hunting evolve.

like right now I’m fascinated by where Tethrd is and where they are going. I feel like they are in a pivot moment. Started as the first to really donut right, grass roots launch, ACTUAL marketing (sorry aerohunter) and that brought the basics to market, light saddle and platform. FIRE

but their market position isn’t that anymore, they are not the go to for the basics. Saddles and platforms became too competitive. Predator is the best piece of kit on earth imo but their saddles…. Not so much. But even platforms have tons of great options.

but accessories they rock. Innovation, they still rock. But what is Tethrd trying to become? I sincerely doubt their goal is to be the most innovative in accessories and hope their sticks carry them.

fascinating.

I've shared some thoughts on Tethrd in the recent past, that kind of get to what you're saying about where they are.

Honestly, I don't really find them extremely innovative, but I'd like to see them make that jump. That's not to say that they haven't been innovative, but largely they refine ideas and bring them to market. They have mastered the business machine though, and jumped in at a time when not many others were there to inspire self-confidence or provide a model to piggyback off. That was a huge favor to the industry.

Right now they are merging old ideas and new pretty effectively, but I feel like with the success they've had they can go further into exploring new concepts.

Maybe we'll see that jump at ATA.

They are saying $100 for pre-sale models, $150 thereafter.

Maybe we can get the 3d files from them at a big discount and print our own :tearsofjoy:
