How many new saddles can people come up with? It looks cool, but I don’t get hyped like I use to. Thanks for sharing.

It's the last saddle I'd try from them for sure, I was surprised to see it on their website. I'm interested in the original Wood Tree Saddle for a simple single panel. Seems to pack up really small, and I like the height of their build at the hip.

But, to your remark, I think as AH stopped production on some of their designs, with everyone looking to find a new angle to market their wears, there is niche for something well made, simple, durable, trustworthy. Maybe that's the angle...reputation, simplicity, price.

In comparison to what the climbing industry has I think saddles can still go a long way by incorporating some of the features you already see elsewhere. We are still simply using cordura, webbing, and a few buckles. I know there are different needs but nonetheless , improvements can be made. Additionally I think saddles are extremely overpriced. I know the market dictates it and what someone is willing to pay is what something is worth but all these $240-300 saddles are ridiculous in my mind.

I looked at climbing harness this past fall and did learn of some advanced materials. Like Arcteryx using basically wire mesh in their construction and Black Diamond using "super fabric".

I don't know enough about this stuff to be really informed, but it seems like webbing still dominates the tactical harness builds which command premiums beyond even the pretty nice RCHs.

The lightweight RCH builds don't seem any sturdier than webbing builds and are reportedly uncomfortable to hang out in, as well as having more restrictive fall peramiters.

Idk where things will go, I've been pretty happy with my saddles. Any improvement is great for sure.

You watch that video? Looks like a pain in the balls. Not really sure what they “fixed”

Yeah, I just watched it. You lift up. Doesn't seem that complicated to me. But I agree, the "fix" is a stupid name I don't think it will necessarily live up to.

But I really like my RRxl and, if you lift up, it's not hard to use either, so I doubt this will require advanced technical knowledge to get used to.

Is it better or easier than toe hook platforms, some yes, and some, idk. It's interesting that the makers of LW seem all in on this different cam design.

Looks so easy…standing in a warehouse… on a level concrete floor… in a dry 70 degree environment..

But that's about how every review is done too, soo...it's not really that unique or telling.

I do the same to cam the ambush... you pretty much have to.

No way around it without having the post mounted above the platform. Makes it a real pain when having to reset it after some bark breaks loose or it just loosens up. You gotta get off the damn thing…can’t just toe hook it. That just sucks!

How does it fold up? The way it’s put together doesn’t look like it folds to compact. Unless those peices are flipped the wrong way
I think that’s just for the picture. They’ll likely be stacked on top of on another so they all pack flush. That’s how his other camera mounts have been.
